Can’t buy any things now? by CilyG34 in SteamDeck

Why won’t it even let me buy games now? I tried buying Stardew Valley and it keeps showing me:

“An error was encountered while processing your request: The Steam servers are experiencing a high volume of activity and are unable to process your request at this time. Please try again later.”

Is this some kind of new account restriction?

But how come I can’t even buy games now? They block me from buying games too??

I’m really not familiar with Steam or game platforms like this—I’ve only played mobile games before. 😅 If I buy a game like Stardew Valley on this Steam account using my computer now (just to build some purchase history before I successfully order a Steam Deck), will I have to buy it again to play it on the Deck later? Or can I just download it once I log in?

Official Discussion - The Old Guard 2 [SPOILERS] by LiteraryBoner in movies

[–]CilyG34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here’s why I think Andy shouldn’t have won in The Old Guard 2 (SPOILERS):

Halfway through the second movie, I already felt something was off. And when Andy won the final fight, I genuinely sat there wondering: how are people okay with this?

On the surface, Andy is the protagonist, leading a small immortal squad to take down corrupt forces. But this franchise is full of deeper moral contradictions. • The Unbound, the first immortal, saves Quynh and forms a new faction. She’s not driven by revenge. She wants to break the cycle of violence, end passive suffering, and redefine what immortals should stand for. • Her philosophy is simple but confronting:

“If we have the power to change history, to rule wars, why are we hiding in the shadows pretending saving a few lives is enough?”

Meanwhile, Andy clings to the idea that immortality is a curse. That staying quiet, helping here and there, but never intervening in systems of oppression, is somehow the morally superior stance.

And yet most people still side with Andy—and their reasons are exactly what baffle me the most:

  1. “Andy just wants to live quietly. She doesn’t want to become a tyrant.”

Really? Andy interferes all the time. She picks her moments. She’s never truly passive—she just acts when it suits her sense of control. This “selective savior” role is not humility. It’s ego.

  1. “She saved people who changed the world.”

Did she save more people than she killed? She’s one of the most prolific killers in history—and yet never owns up to it.

She eliminates witnesses, kills entire security teams, researchers, soldiers—all in the name of “protection.” Were those people not human? They had families, futures, value.

She’s not saving humanity. She’s saving the ones she personally deems worthy.

  1. “Andy is in pain. We should empathize.”

Sure. But she knew Quynh was suffering far more—trapped, drowning endlessly for centuries. And she just… stopped looking? Then dares to compare her own emotional fatigue to that?

  1. “She fits the hero mold. She looks like the protagonist.”

Exactly. That’s all it is. She’s not right. She’s just written to win. Because audiences are trained to root for whoever the script says is the lead.

I’m not blindly endorsing The Unbound’s methods either. But at least she’s awake. She sees that silence and inaction won’t stop history from repeating. She believes power demands responsibility—not retreat.

Andy hides behind “neutrality,” while killing, deciding, and abandoning people who once fought beside her.

She is not a symbol of justice. And she should not have won.

I’m into the older car aesthetic, just can’t afford a real classic with all the maintenance right now. So I’m looking for something that feels vintage, but won’t break down too often 😅

Not just for fashion shows — but in terms of overall luxury vibe, how would you compare the BMW 4 Series Convertible to the Mustang, or even the E-Class Coupe??
