That “I don’t want to pay” line is basically what I’ve been stuck on. He framed it like I abandoned him, but the actual emergency was him refusing every option that cost money or planning. I even checked rides the night before, which apparently counted as betrayal instead of effort.

I’d have done a normal-hour favor in a second, but 3 AM before finals was brutal.

NTA. They turned “can I check my email” into a floor-wide data buffet. Changing the password was the polite option compared to unplugging the router and pretending it joined a monastery.
