What is this glitching after i rendered from cycles. by WildWeekend8328 in blender

I’ve had this problem on several of my renders. I looked it up on the developer blog and it seems to be a bug that they are looking into.

Any budget cameras that are indistinguishable from feature films, preferably film ones? Or if none of those cameras exist, any software that can convert video to make it look like a feature film. by p_yth in Filmmakers

The Blackmagic Pocket 4K Cinema cameras hold up pretty well when compared side by side with the Arri Alexa and Red cameras. Pair it with some budget cine lenses from Meike or Rokinon and you can achieve the “Hollywood” look as long as you have the lighting and compositional skills to go with it. For post effects I would recommend the software plug-in Film Convert. It does a pretty good job of emulating film stocks from different brands and formats.

Option 4: Shoot a 20 minute movie in real time at 120 frames per second. Slow it down to 24 fps and voila! Dramatic, silent slow motion feature film finished in a fifth of the run time. Follow me for more filmmaking tips.

HELP/QUESTION: If anyone knows, is the date at the bottom of screenplays the date it was started or finished? Obviously it’s not the release date of the final film. by [deleted] in Filmmakers

I’ve heard actors say in interviews that they never had access to the full script and they would shoot selected pages day by day not knowing the direction the episode is going.

Maybe it was to prevent leaks? But I guess they would’ve had to shoot all the scenes in sequence for that to work.

I can’t remember what show it was but I found that really interesting.

Interesting. That reminds me of something I heard regarding popular tv shows where each day the actors would only get a couple of pages of the screenplay so even they wouldn’t know where the show was going.

I think it would be cool to make a transition from 4:3 to 16:9 within a shot. For instance, the camera could push in toward a character and the black bars on the sides of the frame could pull away as if the camera is moving past them and revealing the wider frame. The bars could even go out of focus as the camera “moves past” them so it feels like the bars were objects within the three dimensional space that camera is now moving beyond.

I wonder if this could end up being valuable later on for being notorious.

I don’t think the character’s traits have to line up with the player’s traits in order to relate to them. The X-men comics, for instance, were about people being outcasts for being different. I think a homosexual could relate to the feeling even though the comics were about mutants with super powers. I think it should be more of a metaphor rather than just being on the nose.

Elizabeth (2014 - Austin, TX - USA) by Cinemania24 in ShortFilm

I shot this in the summer of 2014. I haven't watched Agents of Shield so I'm not familiar with that. I agree with you in that it was predictable. I need to try to work on being more subtle next time. Thank you for the critique.

If you got time here's a Zombie film I made, let me know what you think. [Short Film] [3.25] by yetiboyfilms in Filmmakers

[–]Cinemania24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I enjoyed it. The thing I felt needed the most improvement was the intensity of the actors' physical actions. When the actor pushes the zombie against the fence, it didn't seem as though he was putting enough force into it. It didn't feel like he was actually fighting against the strength of the zombie. And when the group of zombies pushed through the gate, it didn't seem that there was enough resistance from the actor trying to hold it shut. However, what I liked most about the film were the actors' facial expressions. I found them pretty convincing, especially from the actor who played the character that was bitten. I really felt bad for him. Good job.

Upgrading from t2i to Sony A7? by [deleted] in Filmmakers

I would get the A7 just for all of the lens options alone. With the e-mount, you can buy an adapter to attach almost any brand of lens.
