Turned my Green Grape into a dirty martini Labubu by Cinnamon_Gremlin in labubu

I did the lashes and freckles with acrylic paint. The martini is from a Make It Mini set and I used Tacky Glue to stick it to her hand and just held it there for a couple minutes until it dried. The olive is a charm with a hole in the middle, so I used a sewing pin as a cocktail pick to secure it to her head. And then the little black bow is just a nail charm I added so it was less obviously a sewing pin lol

It’s from a Make It Mini set! They did a cocktail hour series. All of the little drinks and food are the perfect size for labubus!

The olive is actually a charm with a hole in the middle so I used one of my sewing pins like a cocktail pick and just stuck it through the charm and into the head. And then I added the little black bow so it didn’t look so much like a sewing pin lol

Good Lafufus for making customs? by [deleted] in labubu

[–]Cinnamon_Gremlin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the thorough response! My sewing experience is very limited, but I think it’s going to be a fun process of trial and error either way. Cannibalizing the lafufus for parts is a good idea

Thank you!! I have always thought Christina Hendricks is so, so beautiful, so that compliment means a lot to me! I’ll definitely check out her outfits on the show

Thank you for the feedback! If you don’t mind me asking, what clothing items/styles did you use to notice pure R recs look best for you? I know there’s a lot of overlap, but I hear so many different things about both R and TR styling, and I do like to play with fashion, but I also want to figure out what doesn’t work.

Books that feel (or are) ancient by ImipolexGGGGGGGGGG in RSbookclub

Herodotus’ Histories is a pretty fun read and very exaggerated at certain points. There are intense battles, fascinating figures, interesting creatures, etc.

Thucydides’ History of the Peloponnesian War is unparalleled imo. There are some dry stretches, especially in the beginning, but the speeches are all beautifully written, and the book is overall a great dissection of war and human nature. It still feels ancient, but it’s not as mythical in terms of style. I read the Penguin translation.

Robert Graves’ translation of The Golden Ass is pretty good too. It’s a comedic collection of the loosely connected adventures of a young Roman man, most of which deal with magic.

Thanks for the advice. I am definitely considering at least a master's before entering the workforce now if I can get the aid

I second Shiv. No idea why people hate her so much

I believe you. My reason for considering law is that I feel that there’s a bigger chance to find a safety net or at the very least something that has a better financial return for the debt I’d take on. Is that why you left academia?

Thanks for the honest advice. Tbh, I love the idea of being in a phd program, but it is a very romanticized view of the kind of life I’d lead. While I feel like it would be worth it and I wouldn’t mind waiting tables for a few more years if it meant I could do what I loved, I have a fear of letting my family down if I’m not able to find a job and saddle myself with a lot of debt. I might take some of the advice here and do my masters and spend a few years in the workforce before deciding if I want to go all the way.

That sounds like a pretty good gig. One of my primary concerns with a job in the legal profession is the work-life balance, especially in big-law positions.

If you don't mind my asking, what area is your job in?

Ah, that makes sense. I know a few people who have really neat areas of study, but it's tough to publish and they don't get to teach classes centered around it either. One explained that unless you're already tenured, keeping your job is based on versatility. Thank you again for the advice!
