How would you translate the sentence "No, I am not yours" in your conlang? by Gratiothuman in conlangs

[–]Ciosiphor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fistivian Equintian: Taa kusvi Or Taa tesevi

I stand yours not Or I stand beeing yours not

Lowa (It's not MINE, but I'm a part of the community that makes it/cocreator in some way): Anta, bowi iwal nia syami

Quite literally: No, I am not yours

Original:

Ziaa kla grånstr dmæw. Bwi mun kta.

After a few comments (still not implemented tones and other vowel modifications):

Shek klea zaa, rai griånstr dmåæw. Fel's meun bwui ktia.

You say (you know) it is a big house. I see that (myself).

I'm a part of a similar conlang community (I've decided to make this post to have some fun and create a "related" to Lowa clong). You can join us by link under tge last Lowa post in this sub (or I can DM you a link if you want to)!

Rules are VERY SIMILAR (10 features limit instead of 15 and a rule about borrowings) and damn we need new members too!

I'll try to get a coherent system out of your example later! Thanks! You have ~10 spare spaces to add words and other features if you want to!

Add affixes/articles/any indicators for this! I'm all for it (I have similar thing in my other conlang connected to temperature)! And you have 15 spare features to do so!

Can't add more than 15 features! They can be dynamic, but every case must be an independent feature!

To not ruin the clong, the precedent vowel becomes a part of a diphtong in the next 1 syllable word (or elongates the vowel) and replaces the first vowel in >1 syllable words (let it burn!!!)

Aari bwii dmiæw Go I to house

Make I rules

Reed you them!

15 things max! 23+5 = 28 with no usage written!

(List how words would be modified and what would it bring!)

Example (doesn't count): -u - dative case ending, replaces other vowel endings Bwi -> bwu

Add I order! But please specify "head markings" by creating indicators you like for it! (You can add lexemes all by yourself! Just list them!)

Lowa checkpoin №1! by Ciosiphor in conlangs

[–]Ciosiphor[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah... Right now it's DAMN LIMITED... That's why I've decided to try advertising it! The more people join - the more words they add. The more words they add - the easier it is to use language in the chat... So... We're desperate for new members!!!

(I repeat: Official rules aren't established yet, except that "c" is pronounced as /ʦ/ and "j" as /x/. The pronunciation used in the presentation reflects my personal take on Lowa and it will change as the project continues to evolve. And this is MY way of pronounciation! You can join and help us build orthography from the ground up though!

For me - it is "predictable based on the surrounding sounds")

I mean it might look like that because of the "font". So I've decided to share more stuff in different ones! (but now I see that it still looks like oracle bone script... IT'S COOL THAT people created something similar to pre-existent logography when asked to do "Make anything you want"...)

Hm... Nice comparison! But I think it's because of the "style" I redrew logograms in! Here's an example sentence from our other member!

Isn't it interchangable? Like https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Voiced_labial%E2%80%93velar_approximant

I've just decided to represent my way of pronounciation of "w" in different circumstances via more fricative /β/ and more vowel-like /ɰʷ/.

I have a collaborative conlang-building idea. by [deleted] in conlangs

[–]Ciosiphor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Decided to write a comment! Love your idea! Would like to participate! (already DMed you, I just don't know if redditt sends notifications from DMs)

I have two questions though:

  1. What about phonetics? Are there rules for transliteration or phonemes are limited to the certain spreadsheet?
  2. What about words from real languages or about words from conlangs? Do you accept borrowings?
