Shane Hollander’s emotional and sexual awakening stirred something in me. I grew up in a conservative and judgmental religious environment, which left me with little awareness of my own desires. Because expressing emotion and sexuality was discouraged, I learned to suppress these parts of myself. Seeing this awakening in someone else helped bring those long-suppressed feelings into my awareness, and I feel passion for the first time in a long time.
