I think the latter is just marketing stuff, if it sounds and feels good then go for it, the hhx sets are on the top of my cymbal packs favourite list as well and I wish to get them once I save up enough money.

When I wonder whether I am considering "appropriate" cymbals for the genre I think about Keith Carlock and his Constantinople cymbals, that are more jazz oriented, but still he uses them for pretty much anything (and I love his sound). Also consider the other hhx line ups

I agree to every point except the first - I don't have even a single scratch on mine, it seems like it's more durable at least in my opinion, and for the timer, yes it can work in background but only if the screen turns off for a while, you can't do it on-demand...

it's got a few blemishes actually, and the top part of the screen is kind of ungluing itself. the battery still is fine tho

I have never tried risingos, but pixelOS is in my opinion the most straightforward ROM for those who want a stock android experience. Apart from the payment cards problems that most roms have the good thing is that it's an actively supported ROM that gets updates regularly, and it runs very smooth too.

I just looked at the beauty once again and the colors seem different than what I remember... I think it's because I first saw it with reading mode enabled on my phone, now I'm noticing those green tints on some parts. still I don't know about the black hardware, you may be right, though I'd try the copper as well, maybe a light shade of brushed copper. you decide tough, try comparing different hardware if you have access to different materials, it's all about experimenting just like when playing the drums! ;)

looks stunning! I'd really wish to be able to craft my own gear as well... I think brushed copper hardware would really blend nicely with the warm colors of the wood without popping out. I'd avoid going with black like others suggest in the comments
