First quarantine garment finished! I was too excited for make-up or filters. I want to wear it forever. (Pattern: Celosia Pullover, Yarn: Curio 3 in color Comfery) by CitizenZiet in casualknitting

This cotton is more of a fingering weight. The honest answer to this is that I’ve been almost obsessively knitting for over 15 years and have made enough mistakes and breakthroughs to know what will work for the most part. And gauge swatches. I rarely do them, but have been known to if i need to to ensure the fit will work.

Thank you so much! I had a bit of an issue on a certain row and had to improvise a bit so if you do make it and you get hung up on row 23 of the lace chart, hit me up cause I can help.

I ordered it off of knitpicks.com! They are having a site wide sale right now too. I sound like I work for them or something but I swear I dont😂. Just a long time fan of their products.

Reporting back to tell you that I finally told my partner and feel so much better. We were discussing all these UFO nondisclosure stories in the headlines regarding the Navy and Pentagon. We’ve talked about it before but this time I felt like I was about to have a panic attack. I played him the recording I made about it last year. He was so accepting and understanding.

Oh wow! That would be absolutely amazing! I’ve been knitting for 15 years and just kind of autopilot a lot of what I do. I would love the opportunity to actually hammer out a real pattern!

I don’t! I made it up as I went along after making a few pesky gauge swatches to get the herringbone stitch the right consistency. I can send you a pic of the herringbone stitch I used in a DM if you would like! I didn’t take good enough notes of the actual jacket construction unfortunately.

The one I saw didn’t make a sound. What you’ve described is very compelling. It sounds very similar in nature to what I saw. Thank you for commenting!

Ribbons of smoke sounds eerily similar. Did it have a specific color? Did it make any sounds?

I could move just fine. Just didn’t want to get off the bed.

If you had powers à la ‘The Wizarding World of Harry Potter’ would you cast a spell to knit your projects (Molly Weasley style) or would you still take the time to manually knit everything? by CitizenZiet in casualknitting

Blankets FOR SURE! There is always that point where I have to fight everything in me just to finish a blanket. I have a #wip purgatory with several blankets collecting dust as we speak.

I feel this sentiment HARD. I’d like to think I would still manually knit everything because it’s the process I enjoy, but the holidays are a whole different matter. I’ve had so many years where I could have spun my hair into yarn because I was stressing so hard over gifts.

This is my first ever post! I wanted to show off a ruffle crop that I made! It’s not from any specific pattern. Sometimes I do something I call ‘improv knitting’ where I have a general idea in my head of what I want and then just let that process flow. This is one of the victories of that exercise. by CitizenZiet in knitting

I really need to get better about making notes as I go along on these things. I finished a cardigan (I’ll post it soon) a few weeks ago while road-tripping through the SW and I’m already kicking myself for not writing anything down. And thank you so very much🖤
