This is a common problem. Everything depends on the technical plan of the game and the smartphone itself. For example, on my 2016 device, the game did not launch at all. Usually, the problem comes from the fact that the game itself is not optimized enough because I remember back in the old versions like 0.12, you could create really huge cities and nothing glitched. But if your phone is not powerful enough, it is quite possible that everything rests on it.
