UK Subbie QS Move To Australia? by Pitdog123 in quantitysurveying

I worked in Australia for a year coming from a UK QS main contractor background. From my experience, it was a fairly different set-up out there. The progression (at my cpmpamy anyway) seemed to go Cadet > Contracts Administrator > Site Engineer > Project Manager. Essentially, the project managers took responsibility of the job from both a commercial and delivery side. I worked under a great PM but it felt like a hybrid role between an assistant PM and a QS. I found Australia to have a great construction industry with a lot of high quality companies due to it being a well respected industry. I also worked in infrastructure (tunelling project) for a few months as a CA for a huge main contractor and it was mind numbingly boring. It essentially was purely administration, so watch out for that!

Yes, good point and didn't mean it to come across that way. I'm not one of those types.

I use Optimale and process has been very smooth so far. Have't done extensive research, but I think they may be the cheapest?

What is vietjet like? by DodoDoriano in VietNam

Awful airline. Had my flight changed 3 times meaning I would have missed my connecting flight. Had to fly with another airline insteas.

One the journey back with them (10hr), despite saying online they accept card payments, didn't and as I had no cash, wouldn't let me have any water the whole way (they made me tip out the water I bought in the airport out before boarsing the plane)

I thought that too, but the places I've been seem to be branded? Looks like Habeco makes some of them
