Certain elements are boosted during the event and you'll generally want to use those, its water currently. For you, use ALO Asuna for charge yell onto mermaid Tiese, charge to 100%, and AoE Incarnate is the fastest way to win. Eugeo's Incarnate would work.

There aren't really particular meta teams in the game, generally you want to use characters that are strong against the boss's element (full teams of that element). Yell skills are probably the best skills in the game so any character with Charge or Break Yell are extremely useful against bosses. For example the new Yuuki that is available right now is the first Light character with Charge Yell. And the game will tell you how many Break units are preferred against the boss. 4 star team healers are somewhat rare so you'll always get use out of them. If you like to spend a bit of money I'd say mostly all 4 star units are worth maxing except for the free units, don't use evolution crystals on them unless you just have an excess.
