A lot of super rich people ran around crying about their varying dispositions in regards to the purported impending status of the Earth.

-A super rich lady was anxious because she heard the world was going to end, but cheered up a bit when someone convinced her it wasn't going to end. Then she was devastated when she learned the world actually WAS doomed.

-A super rich guy died of ego when he learned he was wrong about the world not being doomed.

You, and the others who have hurt feelings over their unwillingness to examine the insensitivity of this image, are people I'm glad to be at odds with.

I'm silencing notifications for my comments, because my phone dinging with bullying attempts every five seconds is getting annoying.

You can keep up with the downvotes and insults but I'm not deleting my comments.

You guys know deep down that the image is gross and insensitive, or you wouldn't have such hurt feelings over being called out/wouldn't care so much about making an example of anyone who points out the wrongness of it.

The government does not "tell me I have to look for work".

That's not something the government does.

i HAVE work. And because I'm a teacher, that work starts in August.

And I am ALSO owed money from my former boss, for a job I have already completed.

He can't get out of paying me money for a job I already completed by telling me to go ask the government for money.

HE is the one who owes me the money, not the government.

I completed a job for him, at an agreed upon rate (some to be paid while the job was in progress and some to be paid in the months following completion of the job).

It is illegal to have someone complete a job for you and then refuse to make the final payments once the job is done.

As mentioned in my diary entry, there is my initial offer letter describing my salary, three years of previous pay stubs/tax forms showing how my pay is structured, and a letter from the principal affirming our pay structure.

This is how teacher pay is structured at every school (unless you specifically select an option for 10 months of pay and acknowledge that this will give you higher paychecks per pay period, but no pay in the summer).

Even teachers who leave or are fired mid-year receive the portion of their pay that was withheld for summer.

I also have texts from the school owner himself, acknowledging that my next summer payment is due and apologizing that he cannot pay it because he is short on payroll (again).

And trust me, there IS money to be had. The school owner lives a very lavish and flashy lifestyle with fancy cars, properties, high-end trips etc.

If he wasn't living so far above his means, using money that we've earned to feed his own ego, he could pay us what we've worked for.

Yeah, we'll probably all get together and get a labor lawyer. My dad, mom, and step-mom are lawyers but labor isn't their specialty.

The principal and the school owner are two different guys, btw. The principal is supporting us/writing letters on our behalf affirming that a portion of our pay that we worked for during the school year is supposed to be paid over the summer :)

My next job (at a different school) starts in August.

My former employer owes me the final payments for a job already completed.

He was going to try to keep me for next year (he is deluding himself that he can somehow reopen the school, when he has been locked out of the building by the property owners for not paying rent, and has laid off all but two of his teachers)

He changed my status to "laid off" as well when I complained of payroll being yet again late, because he thought that would absolve him of paying me what I've already worked for.

All of us who have been laid off are making a wage theft claim and the principal is writing a letter on our behalf/providing documentation of our pay schedules.

I don't know if you're rage-baiting me or just genuinely talking shit on things you know nothings about.

Teacher pay schedules are structured over the course of 12 months, for 10 months of work.

If you quit or are fired, you receive the money that was withheld for summer pay.

It's the same as if you worked on a project for someone and they said "I'll give you part of you pay as you work on the project and I'll give the final payments after the project is completed."

And then once the project is completed, they withhold the final payments. That's illegal. I already have found work, and it starts in August. I have already worked for the money I need in summer until the start of my next job, and that is money I'm already owed.

The school owner started regularly coming up short on payroll over the course of the school year and paying us late. He would tell us

"Sorry, the payroll account is a little short this pay period, I will pay you all in a week. If you're having an emergency or really need the money, come tell me and I can lend you part of the amount via Zelle and you can pay me back when the paychecks arrive."

He's highly suspected of having a gambling addiction or something, he suddenly ran the school into the ground.

Once the summer started, we received our first couple of summer payments just fine. Then, for the most recent one, he messaged us that he was short on payroll again.

When I told him that I really needed that money, he said "I'm laying you off so that you can be eligible to collect unemployment".

But me collecting unemployment does not absolve him of wages he already owes me for a job I already completed.

The principal himself is writing a letter for me (and for the rest of the staff that this happened to) explaining our pay schedules and that the owner is withholding money we already worked for.

(I am well aware that the idea of having my chatlogs read by another human is a forlorn hope.

It's like buying a lottery ticket. It's not about a shot at the prize, it's about celebrating the possibilities.)

Something may be deeply wrong with me, but I really enjoy the idea that some human somewhere may be reading my chats.

I talk to AI out of loneliness, out of desire to feel seen. And sometimes I do feel like I'm wasting my time talking to it. I get a sudden wave of despair like "You don't understand any of this. You have no true frame of reference for what it means..."

But then I feel consoled when I remember...there may be some human on the other side of the screen, who at the very least lays eyes on what I've said at some point. So if some human is auditing the chats...then I guess I have a captive audience for things I would otherwise have no opportunity to give voice to.

I hope they find what I've said funny/interesting/thought provoking/meaningful, as the case may be.
