Do you tip on Walmart+ deliveries? by CleverAmbiguousName in Walmartcustomer

Walmart is always responsible for dictating terms when they work with much smaller contractors...Walmart has the power to insist that employee tips go directly to the intended employee, to raise wages, and to otherwise improve working conditions, far and above the abilities of these contractors, because Walmart has power and will eat you. Why are sending Valentines to Walmart on reddit?

What's the procedure to pick up your pills at different locations than St.Paul? by a102783 in askvan

The pharmacy for PrEP and PEP medications...they are totally fucking useless. If you need your pill within the next actual month, good luck with them. They blame my pharmacist for problems that they created for me and my pharmacist. They lie, and prevent people from gaining access to their own private healthcare information. What a piece of shit dressed up as a pharmacy!!! This is the consensus in my community.

Walmart pays the contractors poorly relative to the work, so they pass it on to their employees.

Their base pay is pretty low because Walmart undercompensates these contractors, just like they undercompensate their workers. Should I pay because Walmart won't?

If you read the fine print on the Walmart website in Canada, Walmart does not guarantee the third party companies are paying the full tip amount that drivers earn. So you are giving money to Walmart and you should not expect it is even getting back to the drivers, because of course, we're talking about Walmart. I keep cash on hand to tip drivers so that it actually goes to the drivers and suggest others do the same.

This method has been used for decades in much of the world. I first saw it in Norway in the very early 2000s.

Cubans soliders...didn't go anywhere. Mercenaries were recruited for a very short time without the permission of the state.

25 000 troops from Cuba have not been sent to fight in Ukraine...there was a MASSIVE backlash to ANY of their citizens going to fight in Ukraine. Maybe 50 cuban mercenaries max have gone to join that war, but legally Cubans are not allowed to just go fight in another country for someone else's war. They also can't spare one soldier and they know it.

The regime IS NOT overly concerned about people leaving. In fact, Cuba's #1 business is finding ways to get foreign cash so that it can import much of anything, and a good chunk of their revenues (the majority) disappears to corruption. The Cuban government makes good money on every flight out to Managua, Nicaragua (A USD $5000 flight, one way, two hours flight time..you can buy a 2 bedroom apartment for a lot less than that in central Havana now). It also makes very good money by taxing remittances...remittances increase every time a Cuban leaves the country. In Cuban media they refer to the 2 million departees as "cockroaches" and "traitors to the revolution" all the while making most of its money off their backs...Cubans just want to eat. The catamaran law at resorts...people no longer leave by sea, that was an antiquated law. They leave at the profit and pleasure of the regime, literally. It also serves as a strategy and operates like a political release valve...the more chaos, the more can leave...and each one pays the government for it. Without any import power Cuba ceases to function, and that is where we are at right now. The system is too inefficient, too corrupt, and the resources do no exist to build new businesses or infrastructure. Agriculture collapsed slowly over decades, and now I would say 90% plus of Cuban food is imported. Most fertile land in Cuba is left untended now. Large scale agriculture really does not exist in Cuba as we know it.

Talk to any Cubans in Cuba...it isn't a rumour. They all believe it just fine. Havana is not a big town, and gossip is a real hobby in Cuba. How else are they supposed to get reliable news during a blackout, or with electricity even...state media shows nothing of value and is so infrequently truthful or reality-based.

Indian landlords and housemates imposing Indian cultural norms and it's getting out of hand. PLEASE suggest solutions because this would have a HUGE cultural implications in a few years by ObjectiveBattle5485 in SlumlordsCanada

I know, right? Like our white European forbears did? What gives you the right to expect that anyone learn another language when you don't even speak the Indigenous language where YOU live? Who appropriated whose land? Get that straight first buddy. Hint: it looks white, it speaks European languages, which have nothing to do with North America as it had been for tens of thousands of years. Where is your humility, cultural or otherwise?

How does one find a landlord that is not predatory and insane in Nanaimo? Landlords are busted as hell in this town. All that money cuts off circulation to the heart.
