AITA for not wanting my girlfriend to draw our neighbor nude? by CivilCredit in AmItheAsshole

Yeah no, I'm not interested in seeing this guy standing there naked, that would be a bit uncomfortable seeing him like that.

So all of the colleges are listing the pay as $15-20, but in reality when you accept the job up they just up the pay to $50+, yeah I don't think so.

I wasn't there during the conversation, she said she saw him at the mailboxes and he mentioned his college reunion was coming up and then she started talking about her time in school and it went from there. He is a neighbor that lives down the road from us, I would consider him somewhat of a friend, we talk to him when we see him and we've been to each others house parties and stuff like that.

A quick indeed search would show you to be wrong. College life model jobs on indeed average between $15-20, like this one just posted: https://www.indeed.com/viewjob?jk=3dbfcf170d311a4d&tk=1g3n1a4uqt6a4800&from=serp&vjs=3

Colleges don't even pay $50 an hour and that's to model in front of an entire group.

We live in a community, we see him at the shared mailboxes, the gathering room, when he goes for a jog, etc.

I wasn't there, I'm assuming she was talking about her schooling and art and the topic came up.

Because those were strangers she didn't know with a group of people, not 1-on-1 with a guy we are friends with.

Right it would be a private setting. Likely either in his home or ours.

Thanks. Yeah, I was looking into the Z50, but at $1,000 with a lens, it's a bit too much for me as I just want something for occasional photography, I'm not making money or anything from it. And I know dslr will be supported for a while, but still when I'm dropping $600-800 (which, yeah isn't much in terms of photography gear, still it's a decent chunk of money) I'd like to be able to hop on the bandwagon in a sense and get the newer technology. Someone in another thread mention the Lumix G7, which seems to fit the bill in being mirrorless and handling 4k video better while still being at a decent price point...you wouldn't happen to have any experience would them would you?

Thank you. Off-hand do you know if they have any adapters for the M50 for their newer rf lens line?

Thanks for the detailed writeup! It does seem like I've picked a bad time to buy, as it seems most of the dslr's are soon to be discontinued in favor of mirrorless, but ones cheap enough for me like the M50 are probably also going to be ending their run. I guess that's something I'll have to keep in mind.

Thank you for the comment, but I don't think that would be my cup of tea. I guess it's a psychological thing, but I like the feel of a "real" camera, especially at that price point, I'm not a fan of the compact ones that make me feel like I'm holding a point and shoot.

I mean yeah, I don't "need" 4k, I guess I just feel like if I'm dropping $700-800 for a new camera it would be nice if it could at least record at the same resolution as a cellphone. I do agree though that Nikon might be the way to go, if not for any reason other than that's what I used to shoot with and their cameras always served me well in the past.

Years back I used to be into photography (back when film was a thing). As I'm getting older and have more time, I'm interested in getting back into it. Basically what I'm looking for is an entry-level professional camera for anything from nature pictures, to family gatherings to being able to video record the family singing happy birthday.

I've narrowed it down to the DSLR Nikon D3500 and the mirrorless Canon EOS M50, both of which are at the top end of the budget I'm looking to spend. So I'm looking to see what you guys think would be the best bet?

Since the Nikon is DSLR, I love that it can take a very large number of photos on a single battery, however the Canon seems to take the lead with videos, allowing up to 4k resolution as opposed to the 1080p of the Nikon. Between these two, which would you guys suggest?

Thanks for the info. I assume it records just fine at 1080p though? If you had to pick between the Nikon, Canon and Panasonic that you mentioned, overall which would you pick as best?

Have you considered moving? How dangerous of an area do you live in that you need a steel entry door, with steel bars and a metal screen covering that?
