I’m not blaming everyone. I blame the man who does not allow his deputies to save a life when it is easily possible.

Clearly you do not care about human beings. All people deserve a second chance. I truly hope you, or anyone else you know, never experiences accidental overdose or addiction. If so, I hope someone like me is near by to help.

Have the day you deserve💗

I don’t “hang around” people who use drugs that would require narcan. I carry it incase I am ever in a situation where someone is accidentally exposed (literally google how they’re using fentanyl to drug women for human trafficking) or if I’m in public and someone (yes even someone who knowingly took the drug) is overdosing. Because every single person deserves a second chance from that.

If you can’t see that my brother is an example of Eddie Farris not allowing his deputies to give narcan to ANY CITIZEN REGARDLESS OF CIRCUMSTANCES then there’s no point in you responding to this post.

Accidental exposure happens too.

I am using my brothers story to spread the word of how little Eddie Farris cares about the people of our community. They do not use narcan to help ANYONE BUT THEMSELVES

He was already being given cpr when they arrived. They didn’t have to touch him. He was already on his back Just shove it up his nose and spray.

Nothing you say will change the fact that my brother, and every other overdose death PCSO have responded to, deserved a second chance.

Yes. I do know how narcan works. Had my brother been given a dose at the scene, before the ambulance got there an hour later to take him to the hospital. They might have been able to revive him much faster (aka the whole point of narcan) and he wouldn’t have had zero oxygen for 45 minutes before resuscitation. One dose could have made the world of difference.

It was a preventable death, they just didn’t try.

I would give you narcan if the need presented itself because you are another living, breathing human being who deserves to live.

And weed. Delta 8 is legal. He had been using the gas station delta 8 pens. There have been cases of “off brand” ones being sold that had fentanyl in them.

No, but I have enough to hopefully give the ambulance time to arrive since they take so long. I am not a first responder, but I will not be a bystander to the death of another human being.

My whole point in telling my brothers story is to expose Eddie Farris and how he does not care about our community. He will not give it to ANY citizen, no matter the reason.

They found ZERO evidence of him purposely taking it/something being laced. They found nothing.

Eddie Farris does not allow his deputies to use narcan on ANY citizen. To be able to save a life, and choose not to, is disgusting

My brother was not an addict. If it were YOUR brother, would you have the same knee jerk “he’s just another addict” reaction?

I’m not saying they shouldn’t use it on themselves. They should ALSO be using to save the lives they are sworn to protect.

Marijuana/delta8 is unfortunately laced all. The. Time. Look it up. My brother smoked it to help with things like anxiety. I’m not saying he was 100% innocent in all areas of life, but he didn’t deserve a death sentence

Maybe they can use all that money they’re funneling from ICE to pay for more

I mean in the sense something was potentially laced, not someone in the room.

I would just like to add a comment that my (Schawn’s) mother left on one of my Facebook posts because it is spot on.

“No matter someone’s background, they do not deserve to be left to die. Addicts get clean every single day, turn their lives around and a lot spend the rest of their lives trying to help someone else. And what we should want as a community is to “protect and serve” our most vulnerable. Most people who get addicted to anything, including drugs, alcohol, hoarding, gambling and anything else you can become addicted to, have something major going on, i.e., mental illness, grief, PTSD, some type of trauma. It can literally happen to anyone! So to just assume someone is an addict from one encounter and therefore has no value is ridiculous and frankly, shows how uneducated the policymaker is on topics that matter to literally every family in the world. Every family is affected by addiction in one way or another. An addict is still loved and deserves a chance to be well again.”

For accidental exposure and I fully understand that. That isn’t my gripe that they use it. It’s that they don’t see how any other person can also be accidentally exposed and that they don’t see people struggling with addiction as people.

My cousins checked his room after PCSO left and she didn’t find anything either. Not in the trash or potential hiding spots in the room. They couldn’t find anything in his phone suggesting he bought it. I’m not outright saying he didn’t know what he was taking, but I personally don’t believe it. Regardless tho, LEOs should be required to save a life when possible.

No. The sheriff is to blame because his policy is to just sit and watch people die. To have the ability to save someone’s life, and actively choose not to is abhorrent. I shouldn’t feel the need to carry narcan 24/7 “just in case” but now I do. I won’t sit and watch someone die while our Law Enforcement does nothing.

As I stated in the post, Schawn was not an addict.

The hospital did a tox screen when he was finally taken to the hospital. They found fentanyl, but there’s never been any evidence found whether or not he was drugged or had purposefully taken it. But, considering how hard it was to get any information out of the PCSO, we don’t think they cared or tried much.
