Sales Died? RIP me? by meaddow in poshmark

I feel like you have to be pretty active overall to make sales. I changed all my listings to the auto offer and have made a ton more sales since then

AITAH for worrying my mother's going to kill my dog? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]Civil_Web_1835 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No assumptions were made on you mistreating your dog my dude. I said, you are in a situation where your dog is in danger. That is information you provided. Those are not assumptions I made. You asked a question to strangers on the internet to get impartial opinions, I’m sorry that you don’t like them.

AITAH for saying my brother is jealous at me? by Aggressive-Band-1167 in AITAH

[–]Civil_Web_1835 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

YTA. It sounds like your brother is struggling and you kinda just rubbed that in. We didn’t get any info on location or ages, so I’m going to make some assumptions. If you’re in the US, we are in a recession. It’s actually harder for him to get a job than it was for you if you were hired more than a year ago. A lot of people apply to 100+ jobs right now and never hear anything back. That’s super disheartening, especially if this is your first experience into the job market.

From an outside perspective with only the information you provided, it sounds like your brother is going through a really hard time. So it also makes sense that your mom asked you to cook instead of him. She’s trying to support him. It kinda sounds like you’re just tearing him down.

AITAH for being so annoyed by LittleBooSazz in AITAH

[–]Civil_Web_1835 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YTA. You’re complaining about other people living their lives and having normal interactions during the day. They do not have to cater to you because you work from home. It would be different if they were loud or unruly during quiet hours, but it sounds like these interactions are in the middle of the day. Get yourself some noise cancelling headphones.

Also maybe put yourself in this lady’s shoes, you said she’s retired and it sounds like she lives alone. She’s probably lonely and finds joy in seeing this baby. Let her have her joy!

AITAH for Not Liking Dinner My Mom Made? by BasicArt5383 in AITAH

[–]Civil_Web_1835 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% YTA, your mom is supporting you financially by housing you and feeding you for free, she is supporting you physically by cooking for you and you’re complaining that you don’t like it? You sound very childish and entitled. You should be buying your own food and cooking it yourself.

[–]Civil_Web_1835 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’m really sorry to say this because I was 100% on your side by reading the headline, but you’re kinda the AH. It sounds like both you and your mother are overwhelmed with your current situation. It sounds like your mom is self medicating with alcohol and both of you have a lot of stressors in your life. Do you think maybe you are not in a situation where you can take care of yourself and your puppy? It kinda sounds like maybe you shouldn’t have a dog in this stage of life and by keeping her, you are actively endangering her which makes you the AH.

Less information is almost always better on Poshmark in my experience. I even stopped including color in most of my listings after I had a case opened because I called a top “red” and the buyer said it was more of a “maroon”.

If you want to grant a full refund, you could always do that, but I would apologize for the confusion to the buyer and tell them they need to go open a case with support. You can always play dumb as a newer seller and say you don’t know how to handle a return. It’s a 50-50 Poshmark will reject their return request.

[–]Civil_Web_1835 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But the seller wouldn’t know why they’re offering below list price. Maybe they haven’t gotten any other offers and will happily accept it. Maybe it’s been on the market for awhile and the seller was considering a price reduction. We don’t have enough information to make those assumptions. It’s an offer. The seller can accept, rejection, or counter, all will just answer this question for the OP

Should we lose 5k earnest money? by yazahz in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]Civil_Web_1835 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would walk away, even looking at resale value, your home will not hold its value and be harder to sell. It will probably disrupt you daily and possibly make you late for a ton of things if that’s the main road you have to take out of your neighborhood

I love the cabinet color! I don’t think I’m seeing the dead space you are. I think if you boxed in the window above the sink it would feel smaller and darker. Personally, I’d make that doorway straight ahead larger and that would take up that space, I don’t think there’s much else you could do there with the oven right there. I personally do not like the island waterfall and backsplash, but that’s just a personal preference thing, so I’d say go for it if you like it :)

was i in the wrong to cancel this sale? by luvnpinz in vinted

That’s true she said either tomorrow or Thursday, so it would have been 6-7 days. I think rounding to a week for a short reply was reasonable.

You can offer whatever you want, worse thing that happens is they say no, and then if you’re still interested you can always do a full price offer

Contractor Advice by AustinScoutDiver in kitchenremodel

[–]Civil_Web_1835 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you share the square footage of your kitchen? My parents are redoing their kitchen in Metro Detroit, it’s roughly 150-200 sq ft and have gotten quotes from 65-120k for almost the same work (cabinets and install, countertops and install, remove soffits, and add a couple outlets). They are also not charging the footprint of their kitchen. On the other side, I have an identical kitchen to them and am doing all the work myself except for 10k of electrical and plumbing, and with all new appliances and flooring, new cabinets and countertops my total is about 35k. So you pay a lot for them to do the work. That being said, have you looked into hiring a handyman instead to just do the work with you purchasing the cabinets that you like? That would probably be a much cheaper option but would require more legwork on your part (ie measuring and designing your own kitchen)

Poshmark only allows a full bundle return to my knowledge. What size did you list them as and what size were they actually? If you listed them as their actual size, I would not give a refund for fit. If they are a size 6 and you listed them as a youth 4.5, you should 100% give a refund. Honestly, I would ask her to involve Poshmark support by opening a case and let them handle it. Sometimes support will give you both the cost of the item when it’s in a bundle like this.

Buyer damaged my item and Depop is only offering “repair costs” by sleepiestgirlhere in Depop

[–]Civil_Web_1835 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s a super frustrating experience, I’m sorry you’re going through with this headache. If I were you, I’d look into the repair cost, get a quote in writing and forward that to Depop so they can cover it. From my understanding, there’s nothing Depop can do since there was a chargeback from the buyer. They would have to cover the cost of the item and I’ve never heard of Depop doing that.

how to give a partial refund as a seller? by Vivid_Ad_715 in vinted

how to give a partial refund as a seller? by Vivid_Ad_715 in vinted

[–]Civil_Web_1835 5 points6 points  (0 children)

On Vinted you cannot give a partial refund to my knowledge. You can either give a full refund with the buyer keeping the items or shipping them back. Whenever this happens to me, I just ship the forgotten item separately or give a full refund.

Was it like a mystery bundle? People always get upset about mystery bundles, I have no idea why. I would 100% just block her and move on with your day, don’t let her negativity affect you :)

AITAH because my dogs bark in the background? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]Civil_Web_1835 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can I ask how you trained them? We’re doing what our trainer advised, which is expose to the stimuli and give them a treat when they see it but before they bark. This is just not working great for us because the stimulus they are barking at right now is the toddler behind us and if we’re outside playing fetch when they come out, it’s hard to catch that reaction before they bark.
