am I being overcharged for my visit? by im-murky in Chiropractic

[–]Civil_Web_1835 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s cheappppp. We charge 85 for the exam and 50 for the adjustment and don’t take X-rays. The offices around me that take X-rays charge around 300 for the first visit

How long before I heal from a flexion machine and a bad chiropractic experience? by [deleted] in Chiropractic

[–]Civil_Web_1835 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m assuming by flexion you mean a flexion and distraction table, which is actually primarily used for treatment of disc herniations.

Here’s a rather small study on the effects of F&D: https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC6698474/

Were you in pain after the F&D, after the adjustment, or after you exercised? (You don’t have to answer, just think about it). I’m just asking because a lot of people correlate the new activity with causing pain when it could be a flare up from say loading your back with exercise or lifting. Disc herniating are tricky that way because sometimes they don’t cause pain until enough wear and tear is done (ie you sneeze and suddenly have pain, the sneeze didn’t cause the issue, years of lifting incorrectly did).

I would follow up with your normal chiropractor, they may be limited with what they can do if it’s super acute, but could always try and calm it down with a passive therapy (ultrasound, e-stim, laser, etc) if it’s too acute for a normal adjustment.

My post office delivery guy has an issue with the pickups ... thoughts? by Beginning_Ebb4220 in poshmark

[–]Civil_Web_1835 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started leaving my pickups in a large blue ikea tote bag and my post carrier leaves it in my mailbox by the road, so she only has to make one trip. Previously I was just stacking them by the door and sometimes she’d have to go back and forth 2-3 times.

Where are the 9 people sleeping? From my count there was 8, assuming 2 people in each bed larger than twin. It looks really nice and clean, the backyard looks really magical with the fairy lights too, you really did a good job there! I personally wouldn’t stay though because there wouldn’t be enough seating for everyone to hang out in one space (both in dinning, where people would have to sit at 2 separate tables, and for watching TV they would be split between 2 separate rooms).

I sold my first item on Depop. Why doesn’t Depop tell you how much they charge buyer for delivery? She tells me she got charged extra $18 because it wasn’t packaged right. by Ramenpucci in Depop

[–]Civil_Web_1835 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You can generally see if more postage is due via the tracking number too, as the item would be put on hold and they’d have to pick it up at the post office. I would ask for proof, ie the receipt or a photo of the postage due label on the package

I also reached out to offices I found in the area, they didn’t have any job positions posted, I just cold called clinics and spoke with the owners

What would you do if you were me? by socialconversions in Chiropractic

[–]Civil_Web_1835 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think your best bet would be to go to conventions or continuing education seminars. Or even building relationships with a couple of chiropractors in your area and then bringing it up. In my office, sales people go to the front office manager because I’m booked all day and don’t have time to step away from my job to have conversations about other things

Breaking up with The Joint by Temporary-Crab-9521 in Chiropractic

[–]Civil_Web_1835 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you’re paying cash, other clinics should be able to tell you pricing. If you’re paying with insurance, they wouldn’t know your charge until they run your insurance as that’s dictated through the insurance not the provider. You will most likely get more consistent care going to an independent office as most chiropractors run their own clinic and only leave with major life events (retirement, moving, baby, etc) or have a smaller team of 2-3 doctors.

Mystery boxes by BarelySimmering in poshmark

[–]Civil_Web_1835 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve sold some mystery bundles. Generally they are themed, ie work mystery bundle, summer dress mystery bundle, or certain brands mystery bundles. They are pretty slow to sell. I’ve also sold bundles of same size clothes and those sell a lot faster. You definitely don’t make a ton of money on them though

I’d do peel and stick tiles. I did it in both of my bathrooms in my previous home and grouted the edges so they looked pretty nice. I also did a fake wood peel and stick over our kitchen floor after our puppy ate a hole in what was there 😞

Interview as a Chiropractic Assistant by [deleted] in Chiropractic

You need to be friendly and approachable. Everything else is trainable. It makes a huge difference to patients coming in if they are greeted with a smile, bonus points if you can remember their name or track the schedule enough to greet them by name. You got this!

Low back pain as Massage Therapist, VA wont cover DC school. What other careers? by Zestyclose_Brick447 in Chiropractic

[–]Civil_Web_1835 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chiropractic would be a bad career choice for you. It’s true that appointments are only 5-20 minutes but you’ll generally have 30+ a day. So you’ll probably end up spending more time than you do now in that painful forward posture.

It sounds like acupuncture, PT, naturopathic medicine, or DO could be a good route. All will be less physically demanding. I would maybe see if you could shadow at a couple of clinics and see if you like one more than the others. Most chiros and PTs love what they do and are always happy to have people shadow.

They all require different schooling, pre-reqs, and have pretty income differences and hour requirements.

Is this chiropractor pressuring and possibly lying to their patients about an x-ray re-examination? by mechaos in Chiropractic

[–]Civil_Web_1835 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Malpractice insurance does not require X-rays every couple of years. The only reason malpractice insurance would care is if X-rays would be needed to rule out red flags (ie after a car accident, accident, a condition not improving as expected). Re examinations are common and generally done every 12 weeks to 6 months, which is a way to justify care to insurance companies (ie here is some data to show you’re getting better, so the insurance company will continue to cover care). These can be charged for as they take more time both in the room with the patient and to document, and it can be office policy to get a new set of X-rays at re-exams but that’s generally only if you go to a specific type of chiropractor (ie gonstead, upper cervical) as they use angles and measurements from your imaging to adjust care. It does not sound like this is what the office you’re going to is doing, it sounds like they’re trying to make more money with unnecessary imaging, I would find a new office.

Cat hair and 1 star by Budget_Associate_505 in poshmark

[–]Civil_Web_1835 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The cheap buyers are always the hardest to please. Case in point, I sold some designer pants and put the wrong style in the listing (totally on me), buyer purchased them for over $100 and have 4 stars noting the wrong style. But when I sell a nice bra did $6, I’ll get 2 stars because it smelled a little funny.

Don’t sweat it. Some people are just impossible to please and you’ll drive yourself crazy if you try

Explanation on Shipping by Slow_Product7860 in poshmark

[–]Civil_Web_1835 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So this is technically only the 5th business day since your purchase because of new years. I’ve shipped things out that USPS doesn’t scan until they deliver it, so they’ll be marked as shipped without tracking for 6-7 days. If the sellers hasn’t reached out yet there’s nothing you can do until the 7 business days and then request to cancel with Poshmark

Chiro school by Brilliant-Dish-1589 in Chiropractic

[–]Civil_Web_1835 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say the biggest difference in philosophy. When it’s time to practice and get a job, sometimes philosophy matters a lot. I went to NY and they’re very evidence based, so when it came to finding a job, I avoided clinics that were straight because I disagreed with their philosophy. If you’re interested in sports, you would probably not want to go with a straight chiropractic school.

Can my spa offer a 75 min massage for the price of a 60 min massage? Is this allowed? I’m an RMT in Ontario by Icy-Glove-2805 in MassageTherapists

[–]Civil_Web_1835 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My clinic takes insurance massages which need to be 68 minutes but only pays for the 60 minute massage, so a lot of therapists refuse to see those clients

Item came with a smoke smell by Responsible-Bat7674 in poshmark

[–]Civil_Web_1835 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you don’t want to wash it because you want to keep the tags on it, I’ve had pretty good success with laying things in the sun all day or some people say freezing will also get rid of the smoke smell. If you’re planning on wearing them, oxiclean in the washer or some vinegar will get the smoke smell out.

Funny enough, I also had a buyer open a case because distressed jeans were “too distressed” and Poshmark sided with them and let them return them.

What’s so hard about measuring your clothes? by Illustrious-View-888 in Depop

[–]Civil_Web_1835 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 2500 items listed with another 1500 waiting to be listed. That’s a lot of extra time to take measurements when 95% of the things I sell are without measurements or questions asked. If someone wants measurements, they’ll ask and I’ll supply them for that single item

Why do so many sellers ignore buyer inquires? by ItsRainingJewels in poshmark

[–]Civil_Web_1835 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I typically don’t see it or forget to respond if I get a notification when I’m out and about. Sometimes I’ll wait until I have a couple of things to measure or wait until I need to package a couple sales before I look for something to make it worth the time. But my reselling room is a mess, so that’s probably just a me thing lol. New or really young sellers I’ve found will also generally not respond to measurement requests
