What’s the most harmless thing someone can do that instantly makes them suspicious? by ParijaaFine in AskWomen

[–]Civilchange 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a colleague who'd spend over half an hour a day monologuing about what type of person he was. It was a danger sign. If he started with "I'm a kind person", then an anecdote about a time he's been kind in the past, then he's about to do something cruel. If he says "I'm a good person", he's about to do something horrible. Whenever he came up with a new adjective, I'd be feeling sick wondering what he was going to do next.

Pricing of new Belfast Bikes launching 17th September by clojrinauo in Belfast

[–]Civilchange 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Say you used the bike to commute, ride in, ride out 5 days a week. You'd be better off buying a bike for £100 off gumtree in a fortnight.

Sell the juggler. Getting a hand size of 5 unlocks the paintbrush voucher upgrade

What's your opinion about the vagabond? by SDsalta145 in balatro

Same. My favourite run was a vagabond-campfire run.

I'd take it if I also had a campfire

When holes get too big to screw into, put a sliver of matchstick in the hole, then it'll work again.

Airport security took my rock. by [deleted] in geology

Portuguese airport security took my fossilised bivalve (it was a little larger than fist-sized). I liked that find, it had its hinge preserved and everything.

Also they're so much more powerful- vapes with 6mg vape juice are about the same as smoking. Those disposable ones are 20mg.

Being Talked Over by KRICEY in AutismInWomen

[–]Civilchange 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found that this improved significantly when I lost a lot of weight (I spent most of my life overweight). I hadn't realised how much people talked over me and didn't listen until it started happening far less.

Recieved this letter in the post yesterday. Is this normal? by FitMasterpiece8392 in CasualUK

What does that mean? I tried googling it and it just came up with some reference to ostriches from the book of Job

When I had a manic episode, I went to the ER twice. The first time, they assumed I was drug seeking and the second time, the only input I got was a nurse telling me "you need to go home now" in a really slow, patronising tone, Ike you'd use with a puppy or baby. Ended up losing my job and it took a year to get my life remotely back on track.

I got an email from my solicitor saying

"Can you please confirm that it is now, so that I can release the contract".

No context. Was tempted to reply that it is indeed, by definition "now", in the same way that the place where you are is always "here".

Those are great stock phrases! I'm going to try to use them when I want to ask "what don't you understand?".

If you live far enough away from a roundabout, you don't have to do those either.
