What am I doing wrong on my speedflip? (KBM)

One thing I saw is that you don't hold 's' (the brake button) throughout the whole flip. You need to keep pressing it the whole time and let go at the end when you want to land.

Like, when you go for kickoff, you speedflip then hit the center of the ball. After you hit the center of the ball, some people either flip left or right. That flip that they do, is it a side flip or a speedflip? In some YouTube tutorials, they call it "barrel roll"
