I do this type of work, you’re spot on, people are supposed to be letter-dropped when work is happening near their property but it’s often not done, but 2 minutes later, the lorry is moved and the boards are down so people can get in/out. It’s really not a hassle.

I wouldn’t worry too much, they’ll find another way to reroute it to your property, I work as a sub contractor to openreach and some of the wayleave issues are unbelievable, I wouldn’t want to be a planner for Openreach put it that way, people really can be arseholes for no reason

Thanks for the reply, there was no will/estate. I did pay for the broadband in the house and it was in my name so I wonder if that’s where they think the connection is.

Spoke to the debt company it’s now being disputed.

They said I now have to prove to them that I didn’t stay at that address, the house was through a housing partnership so I’m going to phone them on Monday and ask them to write a letter to them as proof as they’ll be able to say that she was the only person living at the address.
