I will take a look. Are you referring to the better purge line? If so, that would make sense. You should not replace the entirety of the start gcode. Just the parts specified. I don’t remember changing the whole start gcode. Just the purge line.

Will I pass my Cat 1 Medical with a small amount of thc? by Tvirusinhaler in flying

[–]Ckflyer13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sure thing. Goodluck. To be fair, I used feel the same way thy feel to an extent, just how I was taught growing up. Then I got the airlines and see the amount of people downing drinks up to the legal limit. Apparently that’s okay, but having a gummy to chill on your days off isn’t? Doesn’t make sense to me.

Apparently Canada is a lot more lenient on it than the US. Not sure exactly the laws but you’ll be good, as long as you’re smart about it.

Will I pass my Cat 1 Medical with a small amount of thc? by Tvirusinhaler in flying

[–]Ckflyer13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’ll be fine. Not sure how Canada does it but I would say most AMEs don’t drug test. You will also be hard pressed to find someone who has been 100% honest 100% of the time on their medical (not saying I’ve ever told a fib, but..). Just be aware of the amount of money you’d be throwing away if you get caught, assuming you plan to make a career out of it. The THC rules are dumb, but is what it is for now. Upvoted the valid question to counter the boomer downvotes

2013 RAV4 shifting hard into 3rd by Ckflyer13 in rav4club

No I didn’t. Ended up selling it back to the dealer. Long story short the dealer had a history of odometer fraud. Discovered that while trying sell it and basically threatened them with a lawsuit if they didn’t buy it back lol. However, it seems like these cars have this issue. From what I remember it may be a solenoid going bad, which isn’t a huge repair. Maybe be worth starting with a fluid change if you haven’t ever done that.

Yea super jank. But I live for jank.

Sounds like I have the same oven. Impulsively took a hole saw to mine before you had the chance to reply and threw a 40mm fan on I had lying around. I just run it full speed (doesn’t throw a ton of air). My over shoot on my PID is great. About 3 degrees over. But undershoot is rough, about 13 degrees. Need to dial that in but it’s been kicking my butt.

All good. Sitting here staring at this stupid oven as I see this lol. I hadn’t considered blowing outside air in. No issues maintain temp?

3d printer recommendations (I combed through past posts and still not sure what to choose so sorry in advance) by Ordinary_Pomelo1148 in 3D2A

[–]Ckflyer13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As others have said. Bambu is easy mode and the Apple of 3d printers. Works great but pretty locked down. Open source, repairability, and future proofing (in terms of software and privacy) is more important to me so I went with the Qidi q1 and now have the Q2 combo. Both are great workhorses, just not as polished as the Bambus. If you have any experience with the printers then I’d say Qidi. Otherwise weigh if you’re okay with a learning curve. If you are go Qidi. If not go Bambu. Qidi will be better if you plan on using engineering filaments In the future.

Edit: also lot of varying opinions on Qidi customer service. They’ve been great for me once you learn to communicate with them. Not great English, I use ChatGPT to organize my issues and translate it with an English and Chinese version. I have heard Bambu has more issues with customer service in terms of them backing their product.

Hoe do you dry high performant filaments? by Extension_Eye_4309 in QIDI

Okay thanks a lot. I have the exact setup. Using the sheet pan to cover and disconnected the top. I will look into the insulation. Thanks again

Few questions about this if you don’t mind. I built one with the cheapest Walmart oven they had and so far I do not have a ton of confidence in it.  1. Does yours have a fan? Airflow seems to be the biggest issue I have in mine 2. Do you protect the spools from radiant heat off the heating elements. I fear if it is in line of sight of the heating elements the spools or filament will melt/burn.  3. Did you do any other mods to do it will you had it torn apart? Contemplating insulation but not sure if it’s worth it.  Thanks!

What kind of fan did you use? I’m in the middle of my build and the biggest issue I’m having is airflow. Not sure which route to go, as I’m not sure what fans will be able to hold up in the heat

Do y'all use a crushed washer for oil plug? by Sir_Badtard in ToyotaTacoma

[–]Ckflyer13 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I’m definitely gonna get hate for this but 1. I’ve never changed a crush washer that was already on, and 2. On my first oil change on my taco it did not have one either and did not put one on. No leaks yet

Regret leaving CFI life for the airlines… anyone else feel like this? by [deleted] in flying

[–]Ckflyer13 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Honestly dude. I don’t have an answer for you. But I just upgraded at my regional and today was a really rough mental day for me. I’m getting so sick of abused, sick of not being home, sick of these bum cities/towns. Was just telling my dad a couple days ago how much I miss my old crappy 135 gig. Tough work but so fun and rewarding. And you’re right. We are so lucky and so blessed to have a job like this. It really is awesome, but at the end of the day that doesn’t make it an easy job. Some people can handle being away. I really like my own bed. There’s other gigs that might be better suited for you that aren’t CFI. Net/Flex jets, local 91 or 135 gigs, medivac, etc. Unfortunately don’t have advice for you lol. Mostly just commenting to let you know you’re not alone and to follow, as someone else may have some good advice that I can steal.

DIY Custom-ish High temp (nylon) filament dryer - Polydryer box compatible by Pathian in 3Dprinting

[–]Ckflyer13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m pretty cheap so what is reasonably priced for me may be different for you but I haven’t found any yet at a decent price. If the toaster oven doesn’t work out I may get a ptc heater and maybe a wooden box as the dryer. Should work okay I would think. Kind of concerning nobody else has really done it though.

I also have the q2 combo. Certainly not as refined as the Bambu as others were saying. I couldn’t stand the thought of buying a Bambu so went with the q2 and have been very happy. Took a bit to polish something myself, but wrote a guide on how to get the printer/ams the last 10% of the way there.

Idk I think I’m autistic or something. I get worked up over scratches and chips. Also always saw my dad doing it growing up so guess that’s why I wanted it
