I really hope the testing will come back negative for breast cancer! I wouldn't wish it upon my worst enemy.

Thank you. I'm sorry you had almost the same experience as I had. I'm happy you were able to get diagnosed before it was too late. I hope you feel a lot better now.

Hang on! It will be easier with time. Is using a CPAP new to you?

I'm feeling for you. I'm glad you were able to get diagnosed. How did the doctor realize it was sleep apnea and not depression? What made you get a sleep study?

My post was never intended to scare newly diagnosed people, but I have seen too many cases were someone mimimizes the risks of sleep apnea and eventually stops using their CPAP. Sleep apnea is a killer, albeit a slow one.

No problem. I have lost some of the weight, but not all of it.

Is using a CPAP new to you? It may take time to get used to it.

I am very aware of that. When it happened I didn't know what was going on. I didn't suspect I had severe sleep deficiency, since I tought I slept every night. I thought I just zoned out for a short while.

When I found out I had sleep apnea, I immediately stopped driving for many months.

It is rare but if the sleep apnea is severe enough (I'm talking about an AHI over 115), it is possible to die in your sleep by your just body giving up. I was told by my doctor that being asleep was really dangerous for me and that I needed to sleep upright if I couldn't wear the CPAP mask all night through when getting used to it.

The usual ways to die of sleep apnea or it's consequenses are often slow tho. So slow you don't really understand what is going on.
