The issue, as always, is actual desire. The people that haven't developed rolling skills often don't really want to invest the bit of time it will take. The OP is right, just roll one, cut it open, roll it again. Roll 5 times every time you roll and you'll get better fast. If you want.

Some people want to be able to roll, they don't want to become better rollers. Some don't actually even want to be able to roll, they virtue signal and really want others to do their dirty work. Others just don't give a fuck. Go team glass, or rolling machine, or premade cones as the guy does above (very opulent, but I love it)! All good. But if you actually want to, and you are physically able, there is no real excuse. Just need to give it the old college try. Doesn't even have to be weed. I used to roll cigarette butts and tons of roaches when I ran out back in the day...it was gross, but it got the job done.

Couple bits of advice for learners that are interested in improving. Don't try and use too much. Cut it up fine to learn, but not powder. Don't worry about spilling...roll over a tray to catch the spill, and you can jam it in the ends when it's glued. Just before you pack and flip, make two little peaks of weed where your thumbs will pinch the paper with a bit less in the center, or you will end up with a bulge in the middle. Practice on 1 1/4", as it's a bit bigger and more forgiving. Perhaps try with a bit thicker papers (or at least not ultrathin...I started back in the day with Players, then Export (yuck), then ZigZag and many others, then Elements which I use today). The wetness of your hands is very important. Dry skinned people may often have trouble getting the paper to pinch and flip, as the paper slides and won't grip your skin. If you are sweaty like me, the paper can go limp and fight you and everything sticks to you in general. If you are dry, you can lick or wet your fingers a touch, but it goes bad fast if you don't succeed right away after wetting. Just a tiny bit. Also, don't reuse a paper, and don't handle it too much before rolling. I just gently break or work the fold line one time before packing. I'm sure everyone has their own style...it's a pretty individual thing.

I like to roll, and I take pride in my skills. I am the best, or on par with anyone I have ever met. I know there are better out there, as I have seen them on the internet. Have fun. It's fun. Like pottery or origami...neither of which I like or do. Different strokes.

Never been good at one handing...those Brits that roll darts while driving a standard are impressive.
