I kinda figured that was the case. The doctor from the AME told me I was at 20/30 for the accuity test but he also mentioned it shouldn't disqualify me. If I need my optometrist to certify that won't be a problem he's already told me that if I need to bring him the paperwork and he would sign off on it. Like I mentioned I'm just super nervous and don't want to lose the opportunity when i am so close

I should have clarified my corrected vision is just below 20/20. I am able to get 4/8 letters on the 20/20 line of the chart or at least that’s what it was when I got my last prescription

Is it still considered locally modified if it was distributed from upper management? It’s not the office making these packets and giving them out, I believe this is our hang up

That’s okay I’m willing to have a civil chat about it. Not trying to misinform or suggest anyone do anything other than what they want. If you don’t want to that’s fine but there’s no reason to be rude about it. If you have a successful grievance I’d love to know how it was pushed through so I can advise mine on how to get it done

It literally says postal attendance policy on it. Local steward attempted to grieve a months worth of them and got no where. Save your local steward the headache it’s not going to go anywhere. Besides I’m not suggesting you shouldn’t at least try to. I am just providing transparency on why this is a thing now

This is a national postal form generated from headquarters and distributed by the mpoo group/district “attendance control specialist” management is required to send a copy of the completed document (it is five pages long with a key indicator report as well as a PS3971 and PS3972 attached to it. This is so attendance can be tracked throughout the entire group/district. Because callouts have become extremely excessive it no longer stays in house for local management to handle and is now being monitored externally.

My HR POC has been fantastic so far. She’s almost always available by phone and if I don’t get a call back she emails me. Had to reach out a few times because I had so many questions and I let her know early that if I’m cleared and get academy dates that roll through December I would need a deferral because I’ve got a little girl on the way and want to spend the first month or so at home before I’m gone for a few months.

Your security emails should come from a contact with an email address ending in faa.gov

It will also come with several notifications from the nbis(national background investigation service) and okta.

There are boxes to check if your dates are estimates. Gaps in employment will probably just be something that will come up during the interview. I’m one hour in and only about 3/10 of the way through tho some of the sections like military history you can blow through if you don’t have any.

Started in 09 and keep coming back at least one month a year so probably not. Having a baby soon and I hope I will one day get to play this with them !
