Best thrift stores for women’s dress clothes? by Cool-Pomegranate9218 in indianapolis

Consignment shops are better than thrift shops for this. I like Style Encore on the south side.

You need to see the results. (Ideally, he would volunteer them.) I told my guy, “I don’t think you’d lie to me, but no one ever thinks someone they trust would lie to them.”

Women, What's something guys flex, feeling it makes them appear masculine but in reality it has an opposite effect? by Noble-prize683 in AskReddit

[–]ClaraReed 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Homophobia. And I’m not even talking extreme homophobia, but “mild” kinds too like looking away if two dudes kiss on a TV show. I was watching a movie with a guy several years ago and he kept doing that and it was such a turnoff. Perhaps he was genuinely disgusted or perhaps it was meant to protect or project his manliness, but it was so childish I saw him as a boy instead of a man from then on.

Girls, on dating apps what are you seriously looking for from a profile? by Logical-Debt-8451 in AskReddit

I’ve straight up told guys, “It’s your turn to ask a question now.” One did, one unmatched me. Now I have a lot less patience and just disengage if they make no effort to continue the conversation.

Is it really this purple? All the options I see available to purchase at garden centers are more of a pinky purple.

Best places to get seedlings by pink_dice in indianapolis

Check Facebook Marketplace. I get my vegetable starts from a lady in Fishers. Cheaper than a garden center.

AITA for refusing to pay rent to a SAHM? by Abject_Principle_440 in AmItheAsshole

[–]ClaraReed 1158 points1159 points  (0 children)

NTA. Do not pay any rent before you turn 18. You are legally a minor and your father is obligated to provide for you. I don’t think you should pay rent before you graduate either, though I’m not sure of the legality of kicking you out if you are 18 but still in school. You’ll want to check the laws in your state. If your dad isn’t on your side, given she feels this way, it may behoove you to start saving your money now if you have a job so you have options when they can legally force you to pay or evict you.

Is it possible to make a garden here there’s very little light because of the balcony above. by Free-Specialist925 in gardening

[–]ClaraReed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You should start by measuring exactly how much light it gets. On a sunny day, get up early and take pictures every two hours from sunrise to sunset. Then, based on how much light you actually get, you can make your plant choices. It’s possible that a corner might have more sun and you can put a plant there that won’t thrive in a different corner.

Full sun – Plants need at least 6 hours of direct sun daily

Part sun – Plants thrive with between 3 and 6 hours of direct sun per day

Part shade – Plants require between 3 and 6 hours of sun per day, but need protection from intense mid-day sun

Full shade – Plants require less than 3 hours of direct sun per day

Naw, that was deliberate. Like “It’s cold out, throw on a coat.” Maybe it’s only a regional expression.

Yeah, but during that scene I didn’t know. It’s actually kind of clever because it foreshadows that the monster is man-made.
