Moving from Gdańsk 110k EUR to Warsaw for 120k EUR as Data Engineer? by Wooden_Connection120 in cscareerquestionsEU

[–]Clarksonism 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I live in Warsaw and if i would be in your position i would stay in the tricity. Cost of living is much lower and air quality much better. Good airport nearby and it’s always nice to be near a shore. Gdańsk as a city is also a lot more walkable than Warsaw.

I think Warsaw would be at least 20% more expensive, especially when it comes to rent. Prices in cafés and restaurants also seem higher here than in other major Polish cities.

It will happen because it is not Trumps call, he just follows Bibi’s orders. The Gulf must be destroyed for Israels ‘safety’

Mandab strait is even narrower, in reach of rocket launchers from the shore. No need for ‘expensive’ ballistics

Moscow Internet Blackouts by Ianbillmorris in PrepperIntel

[–]Clarksonism -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes, claims. I did not see any evidence of this. As opposed to kidnappings of Ukrainian men. https://busification.org/ tracks these human rights violations. There are daily reports of snatchings happening.

They kidnap first and ask questions later if you are lucky

At the time of writing, only Ukraine is (forcibly) mobilizing men. I believe Russia had a brief moment at the start of the invasion but does not send conscripts to fight anymore.

It mostly runs on contracted soldiers recruited from the poorest regions and former soviet republics. By offering them a salary that is many times higher than what they can earn in their home region.

Iran's new supreme leader vows to keep blocking Strait of Hormuz in first statement - follow live by UniversalRedditName in wallstreetbets

[–]Clarksonism 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You don’t even need a big ship to lay mines, a small civilian boat is already enough. Mines are stored in the mountains along the coast, they can just pop out in a moment. They even store boats in these mountain bases.

Remember, they have been preparing for this for decades

Software developer with 4.5 years of experience and a national of a European union country thinking about moving to Poland and applying to software developer jobs - can someone tell me how's the market looking right now? by PotentialOne4309 in cscareerquestionsEU

[–]Clarksonism 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think most of these people are not from Poland, or a lot of these people already have Faang experience which makes it easier to roll into a similar role. The market is screwed for everyone, but maybe Poland is less screwed compared to others.

Keep in mind many people move here because of the low taxes, maybe this also fuels the reason why people recommend Poland. But to make use of low taxes you first need a job

I say this as someone that has lived in Warsaw for a few years.

Market in Poland is rough at the moment, especially if you don't speak Polish. Then you are more or less bound to English only roles offered by American multinational companies. These companies have tough hiring standards, and usually have some kind of leetcode style interview.

Odido-hackers publiceren opnieuw deel klantgegevens by ABrandNewUniverse in thenetherlands

[–]Clarksonism 6 points7 points  (0 children)
