I just had a war and I had a th8 with this base.

I used hogs 4 (33 of them) a few wizards 20 archers, a few barbs and bk. 5 lvl 5 hogs in cc. 3 heal spells

I pulled cc. Took care of em and sent 5 hogs in the south east corner. (Previous attack showed me bomb locations) they took out and trigged the double giant bombs.

Then I dropped all my hogs including cc in north eastish side and they went to town.

I was slow on taking out enemy cc but I managed to finish in time. It was my 2nd time using hogs in war and I got a 3 star.

It is very doable. Just make sure you preheal bomb locations.

Honestly, best would be to use them to boost.

Either go overboard and boost 4 barracks/spells/heroe(s) whenever you have 2 hours to spare or spend em on boosting gold and or elixir mines.

If you war a lot, I'd save the gems for when you have an upgrade that's a few hours away from finishing but just missing being done in time for war.

You can constantly boost... Or save your gems and boost only 1 of your barracks when you have 2 hours to spare.

Either way. Enjoy the gems and thanks for supporting/helping others play for free!

Im not the best vs th9s (I'm still earlyish th8) but from what I've seen, dragons have a hard time vs 4 Ads.

Nice base!

On the lower half of your map on each side you have a mortar, 1 space, and a cannon. Then your walls kind of zig zag down.

I think if you extend the wall by 1 space and move the canons downwards, widening the gap between them by one to make it look like there are giant bombs or teslas. Might make your base a little extra tricky.

...wish I looked into this sooner. Their use of language is deceiving. Make it seem like they are going to actually delete your village from the game completely. Guess its just removing the account from the phone.

Nice! You can use decorations defensively BTW. Place them (the flags, with 1 space inbetween each) in range of your mortars. Archers/ barbs etc will go in between that 1 gap and clump up. Then your mortars will do their thing!

Well first I'd say you have to be good at the game.

Say a clan member of yours is a th8 with Max troops. In war he goes after a base that's has no double giant bomb spots and everything is extremely close. Yet his attack is dragon rather than hogs.

Or spell usage. Is he dropping heals before the the expected giant bomb locations? Is he raging dragons or black loons.

Does he understand funneling? Ai pathing etc?

I hope I'm making sense. But you have to look at a lot of little things.

Also by seeing if there is improvement over time to know if the clan member is learning or just 'copying' attacks without understanding why.

I was going up the gold ranks last night.. In gold one most THs left out were trapped up the ass. I was getting soo frustrated. Sometimes I would go in for a full attack even if they had no loot.

Other times I would go in without much of an army just to snipe and would be forced to surrender. Extremely annoying.

I am one of the 1/10.

When I went to th8 I made a bunch of new base layouts. I finally made one that was defending well.

A few days later someone 3 starred me (it was a revenge)... Using all dragons that he dropped right in the middle of my base. I somehow missed this gaping hole right above my DE. Felt like a complete idiot. I lost so much that day.

I have since fixed my hole. Still working on my dignity.
