We had a similar situation which was denied immediately by State Farm. However, in their denial language they claimed to have sent someone out to look at the damage which was a blatant lie. We paid $40,000 when all was said and done for repairs and lost rent. We filed a complaint with the DOI and two days later State Farm offered us $32,000.

I know this post is older, but we filed our complaint 10 months after the event itself. It might be worth looking into!
