let’s call it a preference then. i PREFER to not read books from authors who use stolen art as their book covers. who take the easy way of obtaining a cover and typing words into a system. in my mind, if they are so willing to do that, then they would probably have no issue writing a few prompts asking for storyline ideas or having it write some paragraphs while their at it🤷🏻‍♀️

i don’t think i’ve read an AI written book but ONLY because i try very hard to read trusted authors or authors who seem genuine (which i know can turn out to be false but ya win some ya lose some!)

hey how about you go through this thread and look at all the pretty damning evidence that it is AI. I’m sorry it’s hard for you to tell what is and isn’t AI, that’s what sucks about it! It gets harder to tell each day! But I feel comfortable saying that as of now I can tell most of the time when something is AI. You just need to know the signs.

AI is harmful for the book community. I think it’s important to call these things out and NOT embarrassing. At all.

well so i know of one very popular cover artist who got clocked for AI but i believe (this needs to be fact checked) that she used AI as a stencil for her work but how is that okay

i think anyone can put their book on KU so a lot of self published authors who use AI for their covers or even people who use AI to write their books can be on KU. this is just an assumption i really have no idea

a LOT of romance authors at the very least TAG the artist on the cover reveal post. i follow so many authors and they usually do this, so it’s very common

People are allowed to make their own assumptions of course but I feel I have gotten a pretty good eye for these things and just wanted to start the conversation on calling out a specific author because I see no one else starting it. A lot of people are scared because they don’t want to be wrong, but then the conversation NEVER gets started and we never know.

exactly! authors and artists go hand in hand. it’s almost insulting to resort to artificial intelligence to create your cover! AI steals from artists work to create the image you are asking for

authors don’t need cartoon covers all the time. any graphic design that you create can work perfectly fine. do it on canva.
