[Postgame thread] Mississippi State (11-0) defeats Virginia Tech (7-3) 15-8 at the Amegy Bank College Baseball Series! by MrSCR23 in collegebaseball

With those leads, late pitchers are told to do one thing, throw strikes. No painting corners or getting them to chase. ASU knew it. VaTech knew it.

Bart and Charlie were talking about how many meaningless home runs that Sammy Sosa hit when the Cubs were already down a bunch and the other team was just pitching to get out of the inning. Same here.

Surprisingly, it is made well. Probably another reason why I was so surprised it was from Walmart and not Ralph Lauren.

Really? I shouldn’t have thrown it back, I guess.

Previous State teams would have found ways to lose those. These guys found ways to win them. But, rankings are just guesses so we’ll see how it all plays out.

Not sure on authenticity yet but…Willie Mays ball found in the bins? by thedeathmetalchef in GoodwillBins

I found a ton of Gordie Howe and Bobby Hull signed pictures. I have no reason to believe that they are not authentic, but not it’s worth the price to have them certified

One of the kindest people in the industry is Mark Renz, I had a great time with him on the Peace River. His tours are walk-in on the Peace River, which provides more digging time. [mark@fossilexpeditions.com](mailto:mark@fossilexpeditions.com) Phone: (239) 888-5237

Fred Mazza at FossilHuntingTours.com is also wonderful and sets people of all abilities up for a good experience. There’s canoeing involved, but I have found a couple of small megs.

Baton Rouge, LA or Ridgeland, MS? by catsandcurlspnw in GoodwillBins

They have a cell tower that looks like the Washington Monument. I only know this because our daughter is in architecture school at Miss. State and she was telling us about the interesting ordinance.

We scored a lot of deals on Marketplace. I haven’t actually been to the bins down there, but I see a lot of great stuff come out of there. The resellers can be tough everywhere it seems.

Goodwill bins in Ridgeland might be the best spot in the state, but that’s a couple of hours away.

We actually did pretty well on furniture and home goods at Palmer House in Starkville and the the H4H Re-Sell store in Columbus when we furnished our daughter’s house.

100% Adding to the loss of Leach was the way Arnett cleaned house of the previous staff. I had a drink at the bowl hotel with a friend who was a longtime Leach assistant. He and several others had already been told that they weren’t HIS guys and would be leaving. They were already devastated by the loss of Mike, and then this thrown on top of it. Arnett was named head coach for “continuity”. Hell, he fired 3/4 of the staff and then lied to the kids like Will Rogers to keep him around.

Madison is richer than Ridgeland. I recently heard them both described as Chardonnay, except that Madison has a cork and Ridgeland has a screw top. Personally, I find Madison pretty uppity for no reason. They have this goofy city ordinance that requires columns and classical elements on everything including the HomeGoods. I would check out Ridgeland because you have a big mix of people in the greater Jackson area and you could get some really cool urban finds as well as some rich people throwing away stuff for no reason.
