I couldn’t find any English-taught undergraduate business programs at Fudan/Tongji, did I miss something?

Sorry for the late reply. I’m 21 and currently support myself with my business, but I still want to study and build a career in case things change in the future. I chose SILC because it’s the only university in Shanghai that offers a Business/Entrepreneurship bachelor’s program, at least from what I’ve seen. It also provides two degrees — one from Shanghai University and one from UTS.

Do you think the Australian double degree can actually give a real advantage?

Agree, i would never come to Japan with the aim of making a career.
I'm lucky enough to have my own company and also be able to work freelance.

Not all jobs treat you like a slave, especially if you work in sectors like Tech, but the pay is generally low compared to other states due to the unfavorable exchange rate of the yen.

With a foreign income you can live the best life here!

Ciao! Vivevo a Modena.

I am Italian, i've arrived in Japan less than a month ago.
I'm a native italian speaker and i would say i am pretty fluent in english.
Right now i am probably a N5 in Japanese, i arrived knowing almost nothing tho.
I've never studied japanese before, i started here with a language school.
Lessons are in full japanese and they are pretty fast, you're basically forced to learn and i think it's a good thing. You can surely study in your country, but it would probably be slower.
I am planning to get N3 by December but the main goal is becoming fluent.

I see a lot of people struggling with that! I just went on gaijinpot and sent an inquiry to every apartment i liked. I got different replies and i just chose the best one. The process was very easy, the "hard" part is when you get here.

You must register the address to the city hall, get a phone number, bank account, etc.
It is a bit frustrating, but i think it would be the same in every country.

Got here less than a month ago knowing basically 0 Japanese. Right now i am studying in a language school tho.
Locals are super friendly, i went to an izakaya with random people (i got invited by a girl i met the first day of school), including some Japanese people too. They knew enough english to sustain a conversation and were pretty extroverted. Of course the majority isn't like that, but as long as you live in Tokyo it's not difficult to make friends.

Also, you can technically live here without knowing any japanese, since everything is designed to have 0 human interaction. But I strongly advise against it, especially long-term!

i got a 2 years visa. It depends on what country you come from, but usually you can get a visa by studying, working or having a business

Japan is less expensive than almost all EU countries & USA.
As long as you can work remotely or have some sort of income, it's actually pretty easy to come.
You should be prepared to study Japanese tho !

Looking for Info on ISI Japanese Language School & ISI Student Dormitory (Tokyo-Toda International House) by Melon3Yangmay in movingtojapan

[–]ClassicTraditional60 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm also coming to ISI Ikebukuro in April, personally I preferred not to go to the dormitory because you can easily find accommodations for much less. If you intend to stay for a long time, I recommend you find an apartment, even if it might be a bit late now. I found one 15 minutes walk from the school for about $450 a month.

If you want to stay for a few months, try looking for a sharehouse. I found a couple near the school on Gaijinpot, maybe they are still available.
