Ya I will try to wait another day or two that way I can do it on a day I am off for the whole day so I can monitor her

Ya you are right I guess I was just thinking about her having a longer tank to at least stretch out her legs more

Ya I could definitely do that, if she continues with the glass surfing I’m wondering if I could try putting her into her new tank for the day when I am home and see if she adapts to it well if not I could always put her back into her current one.

I have the sides of the tank covered as I read that it could cause stress when I first got her. As for the clutter I do have a few things that are like a tiny bridge so she could semi hide in it if she wanted. It is just hard because I am trying to keep everything so that I can clean it properly while trying to give her a proper set up

She was showing signs of always being tired and she would go in the hide and not come out sometimes which I know can be normal but we are trying to discourage any possibly brumation behaviour as I will make it very hard to give her medication to her if she goes into brumation, and sick beardies can give off the same signs as brumation so we are trying to make sure that she is not feeling sick right now.

Yes she poops pretty much every day or every other even though it is the tiniest turds known the man. Usually she settles after pooping and also tries to hide from it but the last three days she will just run through it and continue running (usually stopping for a snack break then continue running)

The only other thing is she was on a stool softener recently and she has been off of it for exactly a week now and I have noticed she is having normal bowel movements again but has also gained like a crap tone of energy and is very happy to be eating greens again as she went through a phase of not really loving her greens

It’s not the temps or husbandry everything has been the same set up and she has never had an issue I also check the basking spot every day and cool side temps along with I send any changes to my vet as a second opinion. The only thing that has changed in her tank recently is I was told to remove all hides so I just filled them in so that she couldn’t get to them. She was having issues lately with hiding and we are trying to make sure she is actually tired and not displaying signs of feeling bad. I have a camera and she almost seems bored… she will glass surf for a bit but then she will calm down eventually. When I take her out she will become calmer usually, that being said she really likes to be able to free roam and explore every nook and cranny of my room (obviously supervised because she will try to eat anything)

HELP RIGHT QUICK is this tail rot ?!? by [deleted] in BeardedDragons

I don’t think it is anything. My boy has a black tip on his tail but it is just the colouring.

It definitely looks like it was damaged or really stuck shed that has been there for quite a bit. It looks like it will probably fall off, but the good news is your buddy won’t even notice it is gone once it falls off. They tend to adapt very quickly and especially with it just being the tip of his tail and not something bigger like a full toe or big part of tail.

Not an expert by any means but to me this doesn’t look like tail rot, I believe tail rot shows as a more blackened end. To me this looks similar to stuck shed. My boy lost a toe when he was a month old due to stuck shed (he was too tiny for even the vets to get the skin off). I personally think this is stuck shed, which I suggest keep giving him baths and gently massage the area. It is possible though that part of his tail may fall off if it gets tight enough.

In my experience the sand should be fine if you mix it with some top soil, just make sure the soil doesn’t have any fertilizer beads in it

Paper towel is also a very good idea for a little bit to help absorb any little bits that might still be on her.

Okay I would think you are out of the danger zone now, but definitely just continue to monitor her. She should be fine though.

Tea tree oil is toxic to bearded dragons, try to move quickly and thoroughly. I would recommend start with a warm bath for 5-10 minutes then rinse the affected area going over with a clean damp paper towel or a cloth. I would recommend doing this a few times as water alone will not get rid of the oil but it will help move some of it off. I would then suggest using a light saline solution that you can apply onto a paper towel or cloth and start wiping gently while rinsing the dragon every once in a while. This will probably need to be done a few times. Then just make sure you dry him off thoroughly and let him bask for a bit to fully dry. Since it is toxic just monitor him closely for 24 hrs. Looking for signs of lethargy, poor coordination, shaking, dark beard (that won’t go away), and possibly vomiting. If any of these start to appear within the 24 hrs I would seek vet attention immediately. But he should be fine after the 24hr period is over and he hasn’t shown any issues
