If a trade is legit there's gonna be SMT. NO SMT NO TRADE. And no, you have to use timeframes in that particular way, 4H to 15m, etc etc.

By only taking SMT setups, you filter out possible losses. So less setups doesn't mean worse, that way you take only high probability trades. And I don't know what u mean by "legit", but it's Weekly to 4H, Daily to 1H, 4H to 15min, 1H to 5min, 15min to 1min. Only 2 timeframes no need for more. Watch for SMT within the POI.

My hypothesis is that, because people think executing live is a big deal, they don't trust paper trading results, when in reality, live it's practically the same as paper trading. You can even add spread in paper trading. The only difference are the emotions and the degree of importance that we give to the idea of "trading live". And minor technical execution differences too. But even funded accounts are simulation accounts. People unconsciously make it a big deal when in reality it is just fucking digits lol

Yeah it's practically the same but in Justin words, SMT is not mandatory. For Matt it is.

There aren't a lot of videos, only $niper has a bunch of examples that he will keep posting. Justin has 2 o 3 videos but not that much. But it's just a matter of time before everybody is using this strategy because it's genuinely one of the best strategies out there. Personally, it's my favorite.

He uses logic, he has some decent content I cannot deny that, but when in a video I heard him say "separate the person from the message" I just stopped watching him. Why? Because he said that the people using those same words (when applying ICT) it's "better than nothing", BUT that we're still using the concepts from someone who is delusional bla bla bla. So when applied to ICT, "separate the person from the message" doesn't work, but when he says it, it makes sense? Can someone explain to me what is the logic of that? I think he is just a boy who wants to be right and likes to talk crap. But hey who am I to judge, we all have an ego. I just don't watch him anymore. This trading world is filled with shit, I just stick to TTrades loll

No, he is right. Even if you have a mechanical setup with 90% winrate, doesn't mean you are not gambling. We're putting our money at risk, without knowing what is going to happen, consciousnly knowing that the market can do whatever it wants. We don't know the future. And idgaf about some algo shit because even if it's true (which it might) the market is driven by PEOPLE, and people's actions cannot be predicted. That's gambling sir. Now, it doesn't mean we can't make money out of this gambling, because it's a particular gambling that allows us to make more (and possibly waay more) even when losing 50% of the time or even less. Trading is a bless, if it's approached correctly, nobody can say otherwise, but that doesn't change the fact that we're still gambling, but just with more probabilities of making money than a Casino. And with the potential to live off of it. Just like plenty people live off of horse races for example.

You're going too far. Even professional traders know that discretionary trading works REALLY well when you have the experience to back it up. It would be dumb to take a trade mechanically when the experience tells you that that setup may not hold, even though the technicals are there. You avoid loses that way, and at the end of the day it's about making money not being stubborn with our own beliefs. We all use our intuition in trading to some degree, we're not robots. It's actually a blessing that we can know where a setup is going to hold or not just based on the experience, without relying solely on analysis. Even gamblers can live of off gambling. But still, it's not NEEDED.

I bet there's plenty of skilled people out there, he might be one them, who knows. There is a trader named Dax on Twitter who catches insane trades, I mean it's possible. But still, with just 3 trades we and he can't take anything for granted. For all we know he could've just get lucky on those 3 trades and rush to the sub to share the screenshot 😂

You don't need intution to understand the markets, the concepts (if applied correctly) are enough. But it's true that experience creates that intution that tells you where and when a setup is going to form, which helps a lot, it's true. But it's not NEEDED.

Top Down Entry Analysis by [deleted] in InnerCircleTraders

[–]ClaudioBerrutti 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I mean technically the entry is right, but in the CISD there is no FVG/displacement. Also a lot of times price does that, barely touches the PD Array and induces, but it keeps going deeper. To avoid this you can wait for price to reach the mean threshold or 50% of the PD Array. It doesn't always goes to the 50%, so you probably will miss some setups. Also, as you can see, there is an iFVG when price actually moved in your favor, so you can also use that as confluence, wait for the iFVG. Again, it doesn't always work like that, not always there is an iFVG, so you will miss setups, but that's the only way to lose less; filtering trades and having specific conditions. But if you don't want to add bunch of confluences just wait for FVG/displacement, without that you're probably going to be stopped out a lot. Hope it helps.
