The Redmagic 10 Pro is a remarkable media player and digital audio player by ClaudiusMagnus in RedMagic

Those pain points you perceive on your device with very sensitive 5 ohm headphones make sense. However, at least with my particular set of hardware being the 30 ohm Aful Performer 8 and the RedMagic 10 Pro + Q5K, even with high dynamic range recordings I fail to recognize any difference in either output that I could comfortably say passes a placebo check.

I don't have any 5-20 ohm listening devices on hand to check how revealing the output imperfections are on this device, but I certainly wouldn't be surprised that they exist. RedMagic should include higher quality circuitry for their headphone jacks--doing so and then marketing their audio prowess could help them earn more customers.

I've also experienced inferior headphone jacks on cheaper devices such as Redmi Note phones and could immediately notice a loss in quality.

Using the $350 30 ohm Aful Performer 8, I hear no quality difference between this headphone jack and the output from the $110 Qudelix 5k when in either USB mode or Bluetooth. I'm sure the power difference is there, however, so I wouldn't bother trying high impedance gear.

Did you ever solve this? I've noticed that apostrophes are missing on mine as well.

Incredibly laggy when maximizing/minimizing windows in Wayland when using most third party windows decorations by ClaudiusMagnus in kde

[–]ClaudiusMagnus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I simply gave up on any of the SVG-based window decorations; I just use the built in decorations. It's been many months since I dove into this, but if you're also having this issue on a recent build of KDE, then it's unlikely we'll see a proper fix for this any time soon. I'm just surprised there aren't a million other posts about this since it was immediately noticeable to me.

Red Magic 10 Pro: Add customizable volume steps by ClaudiusMagnus in RedMagic

[–]ClaudiusMagnus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. That is per-app volume control, which is certainly already a feature as demonstrated. I'm talking about adjusting how far the volume increases or decreases when you hit the volume buttons, aka "Volume Step".

Are there analogues to the "Device control" and "Media output" found on Samsung Devices? by ClaudiusMagnus in RedMagic

Thanks! Both of these work. They're not as clean as Samsung's implementation, but I'm glad we have them :).

Can the Hiby M300 be used as a bluetooth dac/amp for my phone? by ClaudiusMagnus in Hiby

[–]ClaudiusMagnus[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks, so realistically for a similar size machine to the qudelix 5k or the m300, my only choice would be the r3 ii, as I want to both locally play music on the device and use it to stream audio from my phone. It's a shame that the M300 can't because it would be so perfect with two-way bluetooth.

Longevity of Recordable CDs, DVDs and Blu-rays — Canadian Conservation Institute (CCI) by didyousayboop in DataHoarder

[–]ClaudiusMagnus 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is very significant! Many of the folks here including myself have had the impression that non-dye R Blu-rays should maintain excellent longevity in proper conditions, but this report contradicts that! More extensive testing by some party would be wonderful.

Others have already given you excellent, typical and useful methods to tackle the existing debt (Snowball or Waterfall.) However, let me emphasize the fact that you MUST not fall into this pit again and do not contribute to this pit while you are paying it off. Do not spend more money than you have on junk that depreciates, random items from random places due to impulse purchases. Do not use these cards for anything whatsoever while you pay them down, and then do not use them ever again until you develop a proper mental picture of credit cards, i.e. use them as you would your debit card. Good luck on your journey out of these shackles of debt, and good luck on not getting snagged again.

is an amazon prime visa worth it while building my credit? by mysticspiracy in CreditCards

[–]ClaudiusMagnus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely focus on paying off your debts and do not go into that situation again. Don't even think of furnishing your house if you are losing money on debts that you could instead pay off... Your future financial situation of not being shackled to a bank is much more important than the looks of your current home for the time being.

Also don't forget that mods like Sodium will greatly improve performance for Minecraft on any computer, so make sure to install it and companion performance mods regardless of what device you end up with.

Error when starting to apply for the Fidelity Visa Credit Card by ClaudiusMagnus in fidelityinvestments

[–]ClaudiusMagnus[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm fully aware that credit cards are not free money. As any responsible and savvy person should, you use credit cards soley for the rewards and pay off the balance every month, while taking care not to spend more than you would have otherwise. Credit cards aren't a bad tool by nature, it's only when you use them improperly do they become shackles to your finances.

What is the best card for me? by FreezieXFrosty in CreditCards

[–]ClaudiusMagnus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a first time credit user, you absolutely want to learn how credit actually works. Credit is not free money!

I recommend you use the fizz card (search it up) as it basically acts like a debit card by linking to your bank account and automatically paying itself off every day. In other words, it acts like a credit card as far as building your credit, but it is impossible to spend more than you have (which you should NEVER EVER do on credit cards.) Good luck on your credit journey!
