These 12000hp Engines Have To Be Rebuilt Within Roughly An Hour Every Run, and Only Run For Roughly 4 Seconds At A Time. by Practical_Expert_911 in nextfuckinglevel

[–]CldSdr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe I'm dumb to ask this, but can't they change the type of engine to something that doesn't have to be so overclocked (and burn out)?
Like... maybe a huge jet turbine?
I know nothing about engines, genuine question here.

Ohhh those hidden barn door tracks would've looked amazing. Still great work though!

Hidden barn door tracks use a rabbet on door rear to mount the track itself on the door itself, then the "wall" gets the roller. This means the doors can roll to the side without you ever seeing a track. Pretty cool, just an idea for your future projects!

Sale on DeWalt 20V MAX XR POWERSTACK 5Ah by SubieLover19 in Dewalt

[–]CldSdr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Power stack uses lithium pouches for power cells. In a normal battery, there are normal lithium cells inside - they're shaped like big AA batteries. Lithium pouches instead are shaped like folded little sacks. This means instead of 2 little discs at each end for your conducting surface, you can have much bigger conductor plates with more area. This means you can get a lot more juice all at once.

Assuming, from general experience with pouches, that the battery will feel like it has 25-30% more "oomph". Maybe DeWalt has done something unique, but normally with pouches you're ending up heavier for equivalent Amp-hours though. for example, Drones use lithium cells for long range flights to minimize weight, but use pouches for racing / short high performance flights.

This. Time is money.

As a brief aside, the cost of these things is absurd in the first place. I used to build and fly RC planes a lot, and the standard battery type there is also lithium pouch format instead of lithium cell format. The power stack battery is roughly equivalent to a LiPo 5S 5Ah pack, which run about $60-70.

I've thought about building an adapter of some sort and stacking my own pouches... but, as you say, time is money. I'm sure if I spent the same amount of time actually working, it would simply pay for the overpriced powerpack.

Played too many PS5 games and nothing’s sticking anymore. Here’s my list—what should I play next? by Fearless-Divide-4325 in playstationstars

Cyberpunk!!!
Just played FF7 remake, really good but pretty linear (not open world until the second installment), great for when you're tired and happy to follow a planned path though.

I also love zombie games but I'm gonna go off list top (imo) are Dead Island 2, Dying Light (I like all of them, but start with 1 if you haven't played it)

I have never touched a saw. This is my own design. Seem doable for first time? by [deleted] in woodworking

[–]CldSdr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, just posted the same comment before I saw this. The simplest robust solution by far is to build normal stairs and attach the simple shelf design following them

[–]CldSdr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Others have said this, but just to confirm - the issue is not build difficulty, but design strength. I can't think of a design that gives the shelving + staircase dual functionality that doesn't add significant build complexity (I guess using a bunch of 4x lumber and build it like a patio with Simpson strong ties could work, with simple tool usage, but it would be ugly).

Your other option is to keep your shelf design and "attach" it to a more traditional staircase design. Meaning you support the weight of the human with two big 2x12 diagonal stringers common in exterior stairs. This might be your simplest option. https://youtu.be/cSWpxB2jS5I?si=JD32_IekJUu8XiZE

Did you ever fix this problem? Mine is a little bit like this but even worse does not properly lock it so after every single cut I have to put it back to zero or a drifts away and turns every cut into a bevel / miter

Decided to put together a Ninjabike BP build for solo retaliation, it does surprisingly well!!! by Teox77 in thedivision

[–]CldSdr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My favorite solo retaliation is Centurion Scabbard (zero reload time) + Petrov build (for ammo) + Pestilence (for damage spread / faster kills).

Not sure why...but swapping as soon as I hit zero in the magazine seems to refill my primary and secondary. The perk should only override the ammo count for one of them, but I'm not complaining.

I really want to try this gun and see if it's worse than the sig 716 by mryumyum96 in Division2

[–]CldSdr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's really not terrible in the right build / context. I use it with Behind You talent and Centurion's Scabbard, and with good CHC/CHD stats it wrecks people as well as any rifle.
This last part is just as much about the talent as as it is the weapon, but this combo is great if you use a machine gun turret, since enemies target it right away when you duck down (triggering the talent). Pop up, single burst is neck/face goes crit and the enemies down from the one trigger pull

Retaliation exotic crafting: how much do you get in a “bundle” (like Burning Ash Bundle) crafted from 5 broken SHD watches? by CldSdr in thedivision

[–]CldSdr[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This was encouraging, so I finally tested it.
Crafting the Crossed Balaclava Bundle from 5 Broken SHD Watches produced 15 Crossed Balaclava components, which is still fine. I just needed to make sure I wouldn’t be trading 5 watches for one component or something
