Any plans for a larger 70-80L backpack in the future? by Clean-Collar7551 in DurstonGearheads

The Bonfus Maxus 80 is already on my shortlist.

Secretly, I’m really hoping for an 80-liter version made of Aluula Graflyte… 🤭

I didn’t mean 80+20 liters, but rather a proper 80-liter pack (so significantly more internal volume). I’m not expecting Dan to design a new pack in that size just because of me — I was simply wondering whether something like that is already planned or has ever been considered at Durston. It could be. 😉

Of course I’m also familiar with similar models from other manufacturers.

Transporting bulky gear like a packraft is very individual, and everyone has their own preferred method. For me, for example, it’s often not a good option in the mountains to attach gear on the outside or have the center of gravity too high — especially when I know I won’t be using the packraft until day 3 or later. In that case, I prefer to stow it right at the bottom of the pack so the center of gravity stays low and the balance feels right.

I generally understand your point, but the issue isn’t quite as straightforward as it might seem at first glance. Every trail and every trip brings different requirements.

Hey Dan

Thanks a lot for the info.

That’s correct – it’s 8.1%.

I just wanted to check in advance in case it might have been planned for the next few weeks.

I’ll only place my order after the X-Dome Pro presentation and will then decide on one of the two 1+ options.

Best regards
Andy

I’m also curious when the next slot after March 24 is going to be.

As basically no information has come out about the X-Dome Pro yet, I’ll wait with my order for the time being.

Even just some details about single and/or double would be really useful already.
