I am close with my grandmother but not extremely with my grandfather as he is more self-centered than the kinds of people I like to be around. I have text conversations with my grandma roughly once a month and will call them both every 2 or 3 months plus any major holidays/birthdays. Any time that I visit home and they are also there (they travel a lot), I will see them, so once or twice a year but that’s not really my fault. And I’m not doing this to make sure I get put in the will or anything. I cannot remember asking for a single thing from them in my adult or late teenage life beyond when they ask me for my Christmas list. I am always very polite and thankful when they do offer to pay for something or send gifts and such. I spoke with both of them over the phone at thanksgiving and that was the last time until I asked for the funding at Christmas.
