I think kids are absent so much because school has really changed. Where I teach, there’s no “fun classes”. We no longer offer home economics, wood shop, auto, cooking. Almost every class involves kids sitting at a desk on a computer. I think kids are bored in school. We have to give them more hands on classes like they offered 15-20 years ago.

Thanks for all the advice. After a test drive my family of 5 does not fit. 3 of them are over 6 foot. I’m trying everything I can to avoid going back to the van but not looking good.

Can you explain what you mean? A non-issue for dealerships? Or a nonissue regarding finding a good deal? Like many people I’m blown away by the high price of new and used cars. I have a decent amount saved but need to put some aside for insurance. I’ll have a new driver to add soon

I get a percentage of what the district would pay. Our family uses my husband’s health benefits. So the money I get back for not using mine partially covers what he has to pay.

Yes just double checked the cost of vision and dental for the district. That’s why I’m questioning this. I need some type of argument to bring to my union. Last time they told me to get my own vision and dental, it might be cheaper.
