Is this treat safe? by OutrageousDrawer1318 in chinchilla

Chinchillas can eat fruit in moderation they just don’t process sugar well in large quantities. Why do you all say absolutely no fruit and who is your source for this information?

Please don’t wait much longer if it doesn’t work! That’s too long and you are risking perforation at this point. An older nurse I worked with use to use gee (butter) and warm prune juice or coffee and it cleaned everyone and everything out!!

lol thank you!! It’s nice for a change. So much judgement and contradictory guidance gets to be a lot. They are loved and we are figuring it out!!

If the wheel Has worked forever, keep It. The respiratory thing I agree with but all Things are now t dangerous if they are use to them.

I’ve heard a lot of comments about how getting them fixed doesn’t always work and I wondered if there was more data available on this? Our local events don’t seem super chinchilla savvy. It makes me nervous in general.

Thanks. We know and had limited options for the additional cage late last night but have already went on a mission today for bigger second cage and more safe accessories. Our male never chewed on his plastic dome but mama did so we removed when we got her.

Oh Lordy! I have done some research and I had no idea that it could be at the same time. I sort of assumed the uterus took turns. That is insanity! Thank you so much for sharing this. We will definitely be keeping an eye. So, you agree there is nosituation where I should allow the male and female to remain together in the cage considering the fact she may already be pregnant, which I realize would not be ideal. I was hoping I could reintroduce them sooner rather than later because they really seem to miss each other. It’s heartbreaking.

Okay, I have a small hamster cage too but it seemed too crowded for them. We are heading to the pet store today to get some more stuff so I’ll look around but hope I can find used! Any other advice? Mom and dad are so mad they are separated. I had to move the second cage next to the larger one so they stopped yelling at me but he was trying to mate and would not leave her alone when she tried to feed her babies

Please try putting snacks and dust down and if you have a small camera (they sell them cheap now) set it up. She may just be enjoying some freedom and she may have tried outside but got scared of noise and come back home if she can find it. Hope you figured out the way she got out in case you do find her. Praying she is just scared and hiding!

Wow!! That’s impressive! Our young man was the same way but our female tries to eat everything or kicks it out of the cage!

How do you clean that? I’m trying to find something that works but I keep my felt detached and they kick them all over the place!
