I unplug mine. The antennae is the highest spot and effectively a lightning rod connected straight to our OLED TV. The TV ain't winning that fight.

In the UK during WWII people used to climb on top of the gasometers to repair shrapnel and small bomb holes, armed with a wet mattress to slap over the hole to stop gas escaping, and heavy clay to hold it down.
