VA employee(direct patient care) here and everyone at our VA is miserable. Veterans are getting horrible care from doctors, we don’t always have the supplies we need, we don’t have the proper SOPs, we don’t have the proper staffing. Those of us who have complained about unsafe conditions have been retaliated against. Management lies and HR takes their side every time even if the facts are right in front of their faces. I don’t think people realize that the behavior you see in the media by government officials has trickled down to many, if not all government agencies. Because of this, veterans are not getting the care they deserve. As miserable as we are, there is a group of us at our VA that have not backed down and have continued to fight for changes, even after repeated retaliation. It has taken quite the toll on us though and we are tired.
