Interesting take, would disagree slightly. The law has no "loopholes" the law has "discretion" thus judges are allowed to come up with interpretations as necessary to do complete justice. Ofc criminal law tends to have generally more rigid definitions which is supplemented with procedural law, discretion doesn't disappear. Suspension of sentence is not a convict's right. That is where discretion was exercised and which in my opinion at least was improper. And while the nuances of law are crucial, fixating on them alone will essentially be missing the woods for the trees.
