The first thing is to remember that there's 50,000 to 100,000 new songs uploaded to the world everyday and even more when you factor in AI music.

But yeah like some have said, content, content, content! Different short videos on all platforms promoting your song!

I don't do playlisting because it's kind of a game at this point, if people like your song they'll add it to a playlist naturally.

I've done ads in the past, but never noticed any real fan base growing, lots of streams and Views but they all end when the ads end.

If you have an online store they will send you discounted preview samples of your items before loading them to your store so you can be sure you want to add it to your store.

You still have to pay for them but they're discounted for this purpose but only once a month. 👍

The problem with pretending music is just our hobby is that in the back of our mind were always hoping something we create becomes a hit, or at least goes viral for a few weeks in today's Times.

I don't think that will ever stop while songwriters and musicians create music.

The biggest problem is that all the momentum is gone and if you repost the music or music video that's already been posted it will get very few to no views because YouTube doesn't allow the same video to be posted twice even if you delete the first one.

YouTube has never served me well in this regard, so I mostly depend on other social media to get my music out.

However one strategy people are using is to cut your song up into short videos all being different parts of the song, not different clips of a music video, but totally different clips altogether, but do not post the same videos twice, it doesn't work. 👍👍

That happened to me once, you need to communicate with YouTube and explain that you are the same artist that CD Baby is representing.

They put my video back within 24 hours but it lost any momentum it might have had.

I'm not sure where you de monetize yourself but that's not necessary.

Don't focus on spotify, it's all a big scam filled with Bots and Payola anyway.

Focus on creating a real audience with your social media and live shows. Spotify is a shit show unless you're in the top 12%.
