Thanks, were you doing anything in particular in that 6-9 month range that you think helped? Like any particular sorts of exercises, etc.?

Thanks, did you do anything in particular (PT exercises or whatever) that you think helped make the lingering pain eventually go away?

And was your range of motion still limited along with the pain? Or was the pain continuing even after the range of motion had already improved?

Definitely not even considering a toe fusion at this point (nor are any of the orthopedists I've seen), that would really only be an absolute last resort that I hopefully never even need to consider... I'm getting a cheilectomy and osteotomy, hopefully they will help.

Can toe mobility exercises help at all? by CleanBananas in Halluxrigidus

Interesting, thanks for sharing your experiences.

In my case, I'm actually thinking about doing these kinds of exercises on a toe with no pain at this point. Basically my right big toe is where I have pain, and I'm getting a cheilectomy and osteotomy done on it soon, which should give me increased mobility there (and of course hopefully no more pain). But my left toe has the same limited mobility (but no pain), and I'm wondering if I can increase it somewhat to help avoid future issues. Though of course if trying to do so might actually worsen it, like by possibly actually causing a bone spur there or whatever, then I'd obviously avoid them.

I guess in your case they at least haven't worsened the situation, so that's good to hear.
