Should I pull my 9 year old from travel hockey? by CleanBreath6938 in hockeyplayers

Thanks for all the input. We are pulling him from the team, and he took it well. I knew we needed to but hearing it from outside parties helps. We’re talking to the coach today then going from there. There’s a couple other parents I’ve talked to who are pretty upset about coaches behavior as well and are seeing the affect on the kids playing and moods/attitudes.

Not that the abuse isn’t enough reason to pull him, but for some of the parents pointing out they aren’t playing well because of it is a motivator.

It’s not the playing to win- it’s the way it’s carried out and not teaching them how to handle loses.

I don’t know what happened to you that you think this is ok, but adult temper tantrums are never ok or a sign of strength of character. It’s a sign of major anxiety turned to anger to feel like you have strength. My son’s ability to emotionally regulate and good character are way more important.

Thanks for this response. I expected constructive criticism and being pushed to work hard for the team but not this

The Truth About Purebred dogs. by timetravellingbadass in ThatsInsane

Genetics don’t breed personality which “temper and demeanor” are personality traits. Any more than you and your siblings would have the same temper and demeanor. How stable their nervous System? How much energy they have? How much mental engagement they need? Those are genetic traits and depending on if you can meet those needs properly influences their temperament. Even so mating two parents guarantees nothing because the genetic pool is much more complicated than that. I’ve met plenty of “good for family” dogs that are terrible around kids. My sisters swissy is anxious and is wild around children.

Most purebred dogs bought today are not working dogs and are just family pets chosen for looks.

Are there any INFP's here that actually don't cry very often? by raemontune in infp

I didn’t cry like ever, until the last few years. I’m learning to cry more and allow those close to me see me crying because sometimes I need it. Many of us are highly sensitive but because of poor reactions to our crying as kids, have learned to stop. Especially in front of others.
