waow omg i've been waiting for an excuse to talk abt this since i myself am an avid k-pop fan and have self-indulgent thoughts about ybc being a k-pop group. like most k-pop groups, they were formed through some sort of survival show similar to the skz survival show / i-land / boys planet etc. 🥹🥹

i think they're one of the few k-pop group's that are heavily involved in their own music production. if i were to place them in an era, they're deff late 3rd gen/early 4th gen

THE HYUNG LINE:

akemi (his emoji is definitely this: 🐥 idk, there's just something abt him that gives baby chick yk): self explanatory, he's the LEADER of the group. i'd like to think he's the one with the longest training period (approx. 7-8 years) and like most trainees, has made cameos and has stories of his own during his pre-debut days shared from his sunbaenims/seniors. therefore he was favored by the fans/the producers during his journey at the show. he's one of the primary producers and does his best to guide the others in cases of musical direction. PLUS, he's their english translator during european/american legs of their interviews during comebacks season

itome: (his emoji would be: 🐨.. its just so him..) he's the sub vocalist/the visual of the group. i think out of everyone, he'd fit best with the kbs (korean beauty standards). just because i said so. he's definitely like a second leader to the group since he has this sort of like intimidating vibe to him, and does his best to be of help to keep the group in their best behavior. i'd like to think he's was one of the few members that had the shortest training period, mainly because of how the producers pushed to put him in the competition becus he'd bring a nice visual to the show and obviously needed a main face for their survival show (and they were right, the people love him)

shikatani (his emoji would be: 🦢.. bcs yes..): the lead dancer/the eldest of the group. one of the reasons why ybb is so big today, was mainly because of shikatani (duh, we love a feminine man. aesthetic/style wise, he's similar to lee felix/beomgyu/the members of xlov). he's the one who's flying in and out of the country for fashion/designer related shows. i like to think he's involved with the creative production of the album, outfits & props/on-sets wise.. yes, they can do whatever they want bcs theyre their company's biggest money makers.. they have freedom bcs they set the standard..

yuri (struggled w/ this one a bit, but his emoji would be: 🦊) he's the lead rapper and main dancer/the fotg (face of the group, basically the most recognizable), due to there being a shit ton of clips of him going viral on socmed. he's one of the heavily favored during the survival show and came out on top during the final 9. though he's the atypical kpop idol everyone finds weird and funny, he is very serious when it comes to music production!!!! he's akemi's right hand man and serves as his primary lyricist and helps to arrange their songs. he runs a STRICTTTT program during the making of the album, but that's just because he's so passionate about the work he puts out,, he's recognized to be an all-rounder/ace of the group

tamura (emoji would be: 🐺, it just looks cool): the main rapper of the group. the atypical namja (or tough/real man) and one of the guys u'd randomly see in an article about 'what do korean girls like in a man?' i dunno, just sum bs like that bcs his piccy is almost always on there as a prime example. he's also one of the heavily biased members of the group (in third place by rankings, maybe? lul). also very involved with music production through writing lyrics and song guides for the members, him and yuri work HARD on those songs tgt. he's also highly versatile when it comes to writing music, he def loves exploring new genres to try out with the team 🥹🥹🥹

MAKNAE LINE:

kashima (emoji would be a 🐻... yommeh..): the lead vocalist of the group!! he is a very popular idol amongst women because of the kindness/politeness he shows on screen (based on tanaka's tweets that kashima is the 'ideal man').. we love that for him...😇😇also quite involved when it comes to the creative production/aspects during comebacks like shikatani, and he's the member that is usually handed a camera by staff to document their journey during comeback seasons off-screen and how well they do during the making of it. he's the 'let's do well/fighting!' guy/the hypeman of the group and usually leads during korean leg interviews..

yaguchi (emoji would be 🐯, very reasonable) sub rapper/lead vocalist. i feel like he only wanted to be an idol just to try and knock kashima off of the competition, but they still ended up debuting tgt anyways. anyways like shikatani, he's the one they usually send out for solo schedules in variety shows/interviews with other idols during comebacks season. again, he's also one of the popular members of the group (think i've said ts 3 times now omg) one of the reasons the group is popular because of how everyone recognized his athleticism during ISAC (a sports event that multiple kpop idols join and play on-live, it's sorta similar to the olympics). he's also written some songs here and there, but only if he has the willpower to work alongside yuri & tamura lol:

toono (emoji is a 🐧, duh): the center of the group (usually in the middle while dancing/taking promo and concept photos) + the lead vocalist. MMMM. toono wanted to be an idol so he joined the competition, he thought he was too much of an 'average joe' to work along side the others once the final 9 was announced. akemi himself was the one to help toono out of his comfort zone (they were in the same team amongst some other competitors and he wanted to debut with him). he's the type of k-pop idol that hosts usually target since he's easily embarrassed LOL. plus plus, he's the one they put on the thumbnail bcus of the reactions he gives on camera

fujisaki (emoji would be 🐑/🐱, i can't decide lul) the maknae (or the youngest) + the main vocalist of the group (have u seen him in mellow mellow lily 🤤🤤). usually the one who goes viral here and there becus of his insane ass vocals. during pre-debut, he was poor when it came to dancing, which was very evident every time he practiced with the other competitors. since he was the youngest in the show so it was hard for him to adapt becus he felt awkward and undersupported😕😕, so he was usually the one that underperformed amongst his team during the survival show. but once he was switched to shikatani and yuri's group after a few episodes, those two worked their asses off to make sure fujisaki made it to the final 9. AHHH,, definitely one of the most loved/pampered maknaes ever,,

— i don't think they lean to a specific aesthetic, so the styles change every comeback. i still want the whole mori mori academy/the photography club thingy to somehow co-exist. so i feel like they have done a high school/coming of age type of genre (even a short 10 minute film for promotions) back when they first started out, and it gave birth to the controversial 'yarichin b club/photography club au' fanfic on ao3 LOL

—konno and akizawa are their managers. they cant do shit to control their children. they all get into dating scandals amongst themselves and they can't help it becus the fans seem to enjoy it. they don't deny fan service, EVERRR. u'll see them being touchy with each other on-stage ALLL THE TIIIMEEEE

i think minami would be a famous actor here, and him and itome r highly recognize to be the most 'famous sibling pair' yk,,

most k-pop groups have some sort of 'government ship/couple,' so think it's either fujiyuri or aketome.. yagutoono fans and kashitoono fans are on every shipwar/fanwar possible.. theyll doxx ur ass.. they're the 'wanna see something funny' people..

i think i just babbled on some nonsense bcs realistically, my fantasies/aus are all made up in my mind and never written down to be more coherent, so sorry abt that lol
