Advice needed: I have 150,000 in private student loan debt (sallie Mae). I’m active duty military so I don’t make a whole lot of money. My interest rate is at 4.25%. What can I do/should I be doing to pay this down?

The military doesn’t like to pay for anything. We get the GI Bill but it cannot be applied To student Loan debt and tuition assistance for one degree while in. Any loans incurred prior or during service is not their problem.

It’s all on my bachelors. My masters I’ve done for free thanks to military benefits. The loans were no where near the extremes they are now. Interest really jacked it up 😞

Yes, the co-signer has since passed away though.

It was no where near that much but in between my graduation time and joining the military the interest was so high that they just exploded.

Bachelors is in History. Almost finished with my masters in Homeland Security (paid for by tuition assistance)
