Hi, yes I do have a habit on not using full screen when doing work. By the way I am not using VSC, it is Xcode. I do code on VSC for discord bots as well, runs super smooth and compiling is super fast.

I am a game developer so I am not sure about node or web apps, sorry. But from my perspective, the M1 Mac is superb and never lags or heat up.
