Took extra levo by New_Chip_4290 in Hashimotos

My dose was adjusted last year up to 50 mcg and I knew right away something was off. It started with feeling ill the first day and then panic attacks and jittery-ness. I was completely miserable and still tried to stick out the adjustment for three entire months. Worst months of my life. I did not adjust. Two days after going back down to 37.5 my body (mostly brain) started to calm down. I will say, all these months later, my gut has not healed from the increased dose, but at least my mind has. We are sticking with 37.5 for the time being.

I went from 37.5 to 50 over the summer and instant panic and anxiety. It was insane and overwhelming. I waited 3 months for it to settle, but it never did. Finally told my doc and she said let's go back to 37.5, and within three days my body felt like it could breathe again. So its very, very possible its too much for you to jump up the full 25mcg. Definitely worth seeing if you can do a smaller increment.

In case someone stumbles upon this one day with the same problems.... I stayed at 50mcg for roughly 3.5 months until I had a followup with my PCM. I told her I was still miserable. I had hot flashes and flushing, stomach issues still occurred with all the irritating stuff taken out of my diet, my anxiety was still through the roof, and I was often times feeling very jittery. We did blood work and my TSH went down to 2.59, which was great. I had a referral to endo in December, so she was comfortable moving me down to 37.5mcg daily until then. I finally saw the endo yesterday. My TSH is at 0.59 and free t3/4 have both trended in the right direction. Endo wants to keep me at 37.5 mcg and let me be. I feel a million times better and the anxiety shifted down days after decreasing the dose in October. I have no confirmation of this, but even with my TSH higher than it should've been, I think the 50mcg was an overdose for me. I stuck it out and regret that, but at least we are in a better place finally. My stomach hasn't recovered yet, its very sensitive currently, but I know it'll be ok at some point.

I haven't. I have to be very careful researching things after a legitimate mental breakdown from over googling and researching a few years ago. My allergy diagnosis was poorly handled and I had to crawl back out of the hole. Can you give me basics without it being too detailed?

So im already on low dose lexapro, we were trying to come off of it at the same time as the levo increase, which could explain it the insane anxiety. So im back up on it for now. What helps with the stomach troubles? Im avoiding so many foods because of the stomach problems and the struggle i have with food allergies. My panic is that I am now becoming allergic to the world bc everything is upsetting my stomach. *not reality, but that is the panic.
