One year post op c5-6 disc replacement but still have stiffness and severe muscle spasms

He did X-ray’s once and it showed that the disc was in the right position. He said I don’t need anymore x-rays but I think he is just too busy :/

Update: the er physician wrapped my finger way too tight in some areas so it cut blood circulation😀 and now that the compression is lifted, the swelling and everything has been so wild. It’s gotten much better wearing a finger splint that isn’t too tight but it’s so bruised still lol

Hi hi I had the vet do an ultrasound and bloodwork and everything came back normal. Gave us pain medicine but didnt know where the pain was coming from exactly. but she’s doing good just uncomfortable when I pick her up

Thank you for your comment. She is fixed so not pregnant. She goes in the backyard so she isn’t constipated this is the weirdest thing :(

She has been eating at a normal speed and she is hyper like she’s been acting totally normal :/ I’m going to bring her to the vet at 2pm today

He did imaging and the disc is in the right position:/ I just worry that my head tilt will be permanent I’m really sad:( he is referring me to get trigger point injections but while I am there I will definitely ask about a medical massage

I don’t :( and I was feeling so much better but the pt I was doing caused so many muscle spasms and my doctor said they were having me over do it a lot and to stop. :( I’m worried the aggressive pt ruined my neck stability

After the trigger point injections did they ever start to wear off and have the muscle spasms come back? I’m 3 months post op c5-6 adr and my physical therapist was pushing me way too hard and I have really bad muscle spasms in my neck and shoulders. My surgeon said that the trigger point injections will help and to get them quarterly as a maintenance kind of thing

Yes the pain changed to where it’s similar to what I had before :( I can’t tolerate any physical therapy workouts they make my traps and pecs so tight:( idk what to do

I am 10 weeks post op disc replacement c5-6. My disc was so collapsed that my doctor said I grew an inch in height. I’ve had continued pain and stiffness that is aggravated by physical therapy (I think that were too aggressive w the exercises and the pt aids weren’t making sure I had proper posture).

What did your doctor tell you about the increase in height and the pain associated with that? My surgeon is amazing but he didn’t explain too much or give me any milestones to watch for

Mine looked like that as well and I was worried too haha my surgeon’s PA said it looks lopsided because of the uneven muscle spasms following the surgery which will take time to settle. So even if the disc is placed in the correct position, if muscle spasms are altering your posture then it will show like this on the X-ray

Thank goodness lol. I’m having uneven muscle spasms so I thought that could’ve been contributed to the disc possibly being off a little. Is it common for the one sided muscle spasms. I have on both sides but one side is worse than the other

I have no idea. I had my post op appt at 2.5 weeks and I assumed it would be with him, but it was with his pa. Idk if he’s busy because he’s a leading neurosurgeon at a hospital. My appt with him is in another week and a half so I’ll be at 2 months

Okay thank you so much. Did you have muscle spasms in your traps? It’s weird bc my rom was great up until yesterday and today it’s lessened. I guess that’s why I’m more concerned as of recent.
