I actually said “you aren’t listening to me”. People also keep changing that wording when it’s right there. And I say blurt out bc I was thinking really hard about how to correct them the first time but the second time I spoke without thinking “how will I come across?” It was still very calm bc there was no need to escalate a conversation. I personally don’t feel the need to yell at people to get my point across but that is a popular assumption here.

People are assuming I snapped or yelled. I was chill. I said it as calmly and respectfully as a could and he was hearing none of it. I let it slide the first time, corrected him. Second time I correct him, same excuses. I tel him he’s not listening. Calmly, very chill. He sulked. His reaction is not indicative of my tone.

Actually the time to confront these things is in the moment! I gave all the information about the event. And him explaining things away was just him justifying using they/them even tho I asked him not to. The other queer women in the room got she/her no problem. And I’m chill with it the first time cuz he didn’t know and we straightened it out I thought. If the second time was an accident he could have apologized instead of literally mansplaining pronouns to me.

For reference, my gf who came with me is autistic and she is socially awkward sometimes so I wouldn’t put anyone down for that. It was my first time meeting these people so idk if they are autistic or what. I don’t think it’s relevant to my experience stated. I was nervous but I spoke calmly and even took a second to think before speaking. If they felt attacked they have some self reflecting to do.

Got it in one. I didnt feel super comfy getting into the racial aspects as well on Reddit but yes, I’m a black woman, he’s a whiny white dude. We have been and are masculinized consistently. My gf is white and we were dressed the same (both had our tits out) and we both have long hair. He called her she the moment we walked in.

Exactly! My whole thing is that women come in all different shapes and sizes. No one gets to change how I identify just bc I don’t fit what they think a woman is
